Great video, thanks! 2021 was my first year of musky fishing (all casting), and next year I want to add trolling too. I like your baits, the BR and the Clarkey both look fantastic. I picked up a Headlock and a Mattlock from Supernatural Big Baits and will start with them next year. Thanks again, I subscribed too.
Get your hands on a Kirby by Mortimer baits. I finally won one (8 inch jointed) and I've never seen a bait thump so hard relative to its size. Lots of people swear by them. Also, I'd recommend the 10 inch boss shad x-deep. Once properly tuned, this bait can be trolled fast or extremely slow without losing its action. I run it a tonne and it's one of those baits that tends to outperform if you're out trolling with a buddy for example and you each have a rod that if she dumps, it's yours to retrieve. Best of luck in '22
I had a kirby but really hard to fish in my waters. I seem to have most success in 12-16’ of water and weeds are anywhere from 1-5 ft off bottom. I use a lot of the shimmy shads, boomsticks and handlebarz spinners! Good luck to you as well!
It definitely varies on time of year and water temps. For example when waters are at a consistent temp of 70+ i usually run between 3.7-4.2mph. The lures all tell you a dive ratio. Or to test for your self put your line tip just out of water and let out 10-12 ft on your line counter and see where it is depth wise. If you have 12 ft out and it is 2-3 ft down you can assume a 4:1 ratio
