There are a ton of barrel companies that make barrels. Its just that a ton of people dont know about anything outside the AR15 world so they think like you do. I could probably list over 10 different companies that I know of off hand that make excellent barrels. Many do not make an AR profile barrel though, you would have to have a gunsmith finish off the barrel.
@@ryaldeveau207 Im not talking about firearm manufacturers. I am talking about barrel manufacturers. There are dozens of barrel makers in the US, that literally all they do, is turn cold rolled steel ito barrels. Most of them do not make AR15 profile barrels, youi will have to have a gunsmith finish the barrel.
@@ryaldeveau207 You would know that, if you have ever built a rifle that was not an AR15 or shot precision rifle, or really any number of competitive disciplines.
Eh, Shot Show is like E3 - lots of promotional hype, lots of promises, a few cool reveals - then for the rest of the year you get to see hype turn into disappointment, promises broken, and cool stuff disappear into the ether. I save my excitement for when an actually functional product is in the hands of reviewers.
Andrew, thanks for spending good time with Bob Faxon. I respect the HELL out of Faxon. I use their barrels, I love their barrels, and Freddie from Robar told me that in his opinion, when I asked for barrel suggestions, they were making the best in the business as far as he was concerned. Top drawer.
I’m sure they have made some lemons, but I have never heard of someone getting one. Simply solid value for money, at least as far as their barrels go. I can only imagine the same is true for the new editions to their line up.
@@chopinbloc I think so, but it never hurts to be sure. They're the experts and they know their product better than I do. I'm waiting for confirmation.
Me and my dad both just finished our ar builds (me an ar10, him an ar-15) and we both used faxon barrels. We haven't had a chance to test them out yet, but we expect great things.
Only thing that would be better was if those integral barrels have the ability to attach a suppressor. Not sure how you would do it though, but Im sure there must be a way...
@Schregger The only way I could think of is to get permission from the most popular suppressor brands (SureFire, Dead Air, SilencerCo, Gemtech, YHM, etc) to use their QD mount technology, and then machine the QD system into the barrel in the space between the end of the barrel and the start of the muzzle brake/flash hider. It sounds easy to me, but it'd probably be difficult from a logistics and/or machining standpoint. Maybe not, idk. I'd LOVE to see that, though.
I don’t doubt they are great barrels but if I was a manufacturer I would talk less and show a torture test. I feel most manufacturers leave this responsibility to the consumer. I don’t like to spend money on expensive things that I want because it has a top tier name. I enjoy spending money on things that are backed by an unconditional warranty and backed by observable data. I mostly appreciate honesty from a company, If they want my trust. If your barrel is good for only 10,000 rounds,”say it.”
Faxon needs to improve their customer service. I bought a bolt-carrier group, barrel, and hand guard, and can't get a reply from customer service to resolve a problem.
