Dress rehearsal of the WDR Big Band in WDR Studio 4 for the concert and CD production "Dutch Songbook" with the Dutch jazz vocalist Fay Claassen under the musical direction of Torsten Maaß: played is "Find that Screw" (composer: Ilja Reijngoud / Lisbeth Segaar-Kooymans; arranger: Ilja Reijngoud). Other guest soloists are Cor Bakker (piano), Peter Tiehuis (guitar) and Theo de Jong (bass). Andy Hunter plays the trombone solo.
With her incomparable timbre, powerful timing and exceptional talent for improvisation, Fay Claassen has long been considered one of the top European jazz vocalists.

Fay is one of the best WDR's independent features! She and the band blend so well... I wish that you'll have more RU-vid videos with Fay in the future.

FAY, you are the best jazz singer barr none, present t or past, my opinion

While I understand that you want to be complimentary to Fay, you can HARDLY compare her to the greatest jazz singer EVER; Ella Fitzgerald!! For that matter, Fay can't compare to Billie Holiday, or Sarah Vaughn, nor comtemporary singers such as Diane Reeves or Ledesi. Fay is good and enjoyable, but she can't compare to the GREATEST jazz singers. Don't forget; jazz was CREATED by African Americans and NOBODY does THEIR music (jazz) better than the ORIGINATORS. Immitators can't hold a candle. Again; I will say I enjoyed Fay's performance here. I just think you might curb your enthusiasm a bit and consider who the REAL greats were and are!

I've been listening (to) this song for so many times. And i can only describe it in my mothers language. Verklaar je problemen, los ze op & Laat de schoonheid haar magie behouden. Mijn intuïtie zwerft zwevend door de stad. Een orkest speelt noten. The best of both worlds. In deze muziek. Dim the light. And play that song again. Mensen waar je in de HEMA aan voorbij zou lopen. Loop maar eens over straat. En raad wie er muzikant is? Of tandarts, moeder en ....
