I love that even Bette Davis complained about her, you really know that someone’s a piece of work when Hollywood’s original bad girl calls you unprofessional. They sure are entertaining to watch but I’m happy I don’t have to work them.
I always got really creepy vibes from Andrew Lloyd Webber, especially after I saw an interview of him with Michael Crawford, and he was putting his arm around Michael and Michael was basically pushing him away in the most discreet manner.
@@gregwilliams3120 True, but Bette's story was pretty spot on. Faye kept the entire cast and crew waiting in a hot, unairconditioned church for hours. Bette started singing and entertaining everyone to pass the time.
Dunaway was infuriated (imagine that) when "Mommie" was labeled as camp. She thought it would be autobiographical. I sit, and roll with laughter with her campy costumes, and one liners.
Nope it was the f@ggot he pulled this same shit before with another actress and as far as BD, who the hell would want to work with that ridiculous clown
@@paulnejtek6588 I think she just meant blame doesn't go far in reforming people, it's a mostly useless reaction. I don't think she was saying his behavior is incorrigible
She's definitely a great talent, but she doesn't have the filmography to back it up. Her great roles came in the 70s, and then, fair or not, her reputation caught up with her and she's been relocated to bit parts or straight-to-video schlock.
@@jedijones It's cute that you think Tom Cruise has stayed at the top for 40 years. Dude's range is beyond limited, and I'm not talking about star power or celebrity here. Dunaway was a talent, and could have had a career full of gems and masterpieces had her reputation not earned her the ire of Hollywood elites. Cruise, and even to a certain extent Hanks, were Hollywood stars with lots of Hollywood schlock in their filmography. They played the game, made the most of their limited talent, and stayed in the public eye for decades. Dunaway could have been spoken of in the same way Streep and De Niro are spoken of, and I'd argue she was a more electric performer than Streep ever was. It's just a shame she wasn't given the opportunity to showcase that in her later years.
They are. Alec Baldwin, Chevy Chase, Sean Penn, Mandy Patinkin, etc. They all have reputations. But yes, a lot of women have been unfairly labeled as such.
I don’t feel an ounce sorry for anyone that mistreats people doing their job. She could have had an even more illustrious career but her cruel behavior, well, karma. She earned her negative reputation all on her own.
She did in fact have an illustrious career. Go online and look at her movie database. She is also a recipient of many Awards. When men are A holes in the business, they are considered smart, business savvy, intelligent but when women have to fight as hard as men to attain something in any Industry, they are considered #_@--! Give me a break!
Listen he fired Patti LuPone as well prior to this. Unbelievable. TOO QUICK TO JUMP ON AN OPPORTUNITY. Well with LuPone he had the Sydminton festival where she performed what they had of the show at the time. It was a workshop if u will.
So, translation: he hired her for her name and celebrity status, overlooking any faults (b/c in the end, it's about money and how much you can bring in). But, then she must have been acting like a prima donna, so much so that he dropped her. That's my theory.
Faye Dunaway of Mommie Dearest Fame was due to play Norma Desmond in a musical version of Sunset Blv 😮.... Im sure I'm not alone in thinking Andrew Lloyd Webber robbed the LGBT community!
According to Christina, that never happened. In a lot of Christina's interviews, she seems to be defending her mother. The wire clothes hanger thing didn't happen. Make's me wonder who thought up this scenes.
Biting the hand that feeds you is never wise. After years of being an absolute titan of her craft, she has perhaps cultivated an unhealthy degree of narcissism. Such people are eventually avoided and abandoned, as they have rejected the wisdom and counsel of others for far too long.
i was there faye wasnt exactly truthful Sir Andrew has a history of doign this but Faye couldnt hack it they wanted her because of her star power at the time she couldnt sing it in any key it was bad.
I’ve lived and worked for Ms Dunaway in her Los Angeles home and I can attest to the fact that she is a professional. She is not quarrelsome but don’t F with her fellas or you’re gonna be sorry. Who the F is Amdrew Loyd Webster anyway? Nobody even remembers him‼️
@@ellebell9139 Ms Dunaway sends her regards. I just got off the phone with her; she read your comment and says you’re an unfortunate soul who will never amount to anything. That she is rn at the Caned festival and you’re in your living room taking up space…
When Carson pressed Bette Davis on her least favorite person to work with she answered "one million dollars....Faye Dunway....anyone who you can put into this chair will tell you the same thing".
