The sad thing is that during the Great Depression many black folks including my family moved to Chicago from Mississippi and other places in the south to work in the Steel Mills to escape lynching of many sharecroppers who were competing with white people for jobs. In many cases black people left behind land they owned just to escape the KKK.In essence a lot of these kids today are dependents of hardworking people who wanted to do better for their family 100 yrs ago.My mom grew up in Chicago and she remembers how close black people were. U could literally walk up and down the street at night and no one would mess with u unless u crossed over into some white folks block. Now look at it. We out here killing one another. I woke up a long time ago when I noticed police officers having a casual conversation over the body of black man who just got shot....like he was a piece of trash. Ive seen more compassion for animals. I like the music and it sounds good to my ears but its the message we have to change
