The militarization of law enforcement is a very concerning thing.

The FBI, as well as pretty much every 3 letter law enforcement agency in the US has never really been your average “police” as they have a completely different mission set than, per se, the LAPD or some other municipal police department. You don’t see FBI agents pulling people over, cutting citations, or arresting small ball drug dealers. That’s usually what your local police department handles, and 99.9% of the time, investigations of even some of the biggest criminals end with law enforcement at the state level. The FBI, DEA, HSI, etc. try to focus a lot of their resources on countries outside of the US, primarily countries that fall under NATO and work with INTERPOL. Places of conflict are also a hotspot and attract 3 letter agencies from the US. When I was in the Army and I was in Afghanistan, I saw and met plenty of different professionals from 3 letter agencies, ranging everything from FBI librarians all the way to DEA culinary specialists. (Yes, the DEA has fucking COOKS). Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Yemen, etc, or places where Terrorism is in abundance (a lot of western Europe countries, UK, France, Germany, Spain, etc.) is also where you will find a lot of weird, nerdy looking people with glasses running around with beards and gear that make it hard to differentiate one of them and an Infantryman in 3rd Ranger Battalion. There was this teacher I knew when I was a senior in High School that told me one of his sisters is an attorney for the FBI, and that she goes back and forth from Iraq monthly. And she is an ATTORNEY, not some super tricked out frickin SOCOM looking GI Joe. No, this person dresses in a suit and goes into courtrooms for the FBI. Federal agencies in the US also employ people you would have least expected. Trust me on this, the FBI in 2024 would rather hire someone as a special agent who has some faddish looking hairstyle that is colored in green and yellow and purple, with tattoos, piercings, and shows up to the interview wearing a hoodie and jeans, smelling like they just smoked a joint, than some professional, clean cut looking guy wearing a 1000 dollar suit. The FBI, DEA, etc has to hire Special Agents who can literally blend in and be the gray person in any aspect of life. It is an ever evolving process, in terms of trends, makeup, clothing, hairstyles, etc. Those tactical looking FBI dudes that you see in this video are probably retired and were US Army Green Berets, US Army Rangers, Marine MARSOC operators, or 18th Airborne Corps Infantrymen with every school under their belt, or done their time working as some sort of militarized armed contractor. They probably have been kicking doors for their entire life, and know a lot of stuff, more than your average NYPD beat cop in Times Square. I can also guarantee that the guys in this video also went overseas to combat zones WHILE they were employed by the FBI as tactical operatives. In summary, 3 letter agencies in the US are more of a paramilitary force that goes after international terrorists and drug dealers. One example is the Sinaloa Cartel’s own El Chapo. He fit the criteria for being a multinational terrorist. Fuck the drug shit, that guy was brutally murdering innocent people, children etc every day around the world. The drugs were just a bonus, they wanted him because he was a fucking murdering POS and a terrorist. Who do you send that’s not the military, but damn near like them? 3 letter agencies in the US. They tear shit up. So yes, they should be militarized.

Just because they wear military camouflage and armored vehicles (they don't even have heavy weapons like machine guns and grenade launchers) does that mean they are from the army? If you follow this logic, multiple American civilian militias are part of the army because they use military camouflage, if it were the American army (mainly the army national guard) they would come with trucks and infantry vehicles and helicopters, not pickup trucks and bearcats, besides that these fbi swat team members shouldn't be half of the whole team lol (each fbi office has a swat team ranging from 26 to 41 members (as far as i remember and know)

the FBI investigates everything and anything that is a violation of federal law lol.

they're supplied by companies with government contracts such as Crye precision. also, with tactical gear, there's only gonna be a set few variations of a ballistic helmet or plate carrier, and they all look pretty much the same. there's kind of a stagnation with the industry, as it's really hard to make new equipment when there's only a select few thing that work for holding plates on your chest. as for the looking like the military, and the camouflage, it's partly due to agency choice, the Army getting rid of Multicam and replacing it with OCP (Operational Camouflage Pattern) With that, you are going to see lots of their old tactical gear handed down to government agencies and law enforcement for only a few nickles and a ball of dryer lint. the fact that gear in Multicam is easy to come by and procure for both their supplier (crye precision), and members, also helps.

the FBI are also getting deployed across the country, and multicam suits forests and rural areas (a large part of the country) much better. It's kind of a Jack of all trades when it comes to concealment in a good majority of areas.

It's so you can tell who the cops are. DUH. Would you prefer black uniforms, or would you complain about that, too? You can thank all this "militarization" of the police on the communist terror groups causing mayhem in the U.S. in the late 1960s and early 1970s. These groups used explosives, machine guns, and the paramilitary training they received in the Middle East to rob banks and armored cars, assassinate judges and police officers, kill political opponents, kidnap wealthy heirs for ransom, and generally outgun all the police departments in the country at the time. That's why things are the way they are today.
