FCRA RENEWAL 2021- DUE DATE AND FORM FC3C 

I am Ashis Agarwal from Team NGOenabler and today I will discuss with you an important interpretation on FCRA renewal and handhold you in filling up Form FC-3C for renewal of registration.
To begin with, I would like you to recall our earlier video released on 27th January, 2021 titled Recent Updates on FCRA - January 2021, where the notification dated 11th January, 2021 was interpreted by us and it was made clear that the renewal can be filed within six months before the date of expiry. This implies for those organizations whose registration is expiring on 31.10.2021, the renewal can be filed between 01.05.2021 to 31.10.2021. Though recently in our last video, the due date of renewal was shown as 30.04.2021 for such organizations considering that there were no clarifications regarding the same by the FCRA Department but yes, now it’s evident that our earlier interpretation was correct to its core. The reason being once you login for FCRA renewal after the approval of your SBI Account, it can be seen that its mentioned “You can now file the renewal after 30.04.2021 and before 31.10.2021.”
Though for the time being but isn’t this a much-wanted relief for the FCRA registered organizations from the slew of compliances they are dealing with presently? So, no need to worry any longer. Sit back and relax, even if there is a bit delay in receiving the approval for SBI Account. You have sufficient time to file your renewal.
Now, lets move on to see how to fill Form FC-3C for renewal of Registration under FCRA, which shall be valid for another period of 5 years.
The first page which opens after you click on apply for renewal shall provide you with 5 details:
a) The details of the association containing the name, FCRA registration number and the date of such registration
b) The contact details of the association containing only the registered address.
c) The details of the FCRA Account i.e. the SBI Account (only after approval letter received on filing Form FC-6C)
d) Status of Current validity of your FCRA registration and;
e) The details of the last renewal filed.
In this page only, you will find written what I discussed earlier regarding the due date of renewal. Its mentioned “Your association FCRA Certificate of registration is getting expired on 31.10.2021 and you can start submitting of renewal application after 30.04.2021 and within 31.10.2021.
