FD12: Starting a Vintage Amp 

This is my approach to starting a vintage amp for the very first time. The condition of the amp is unknown. Do not trust the "variac" voltage plate. The actual voltages will be very different. I calibrate the "variac" using a fan for a load that is close to the expected load of the amp. I never exceed the name plate voltage until a voltage survey is compete.
