It doesn’t seem ready to be approved. The benefits are so small. Brain swelling is no small side effect.

I wouldn't say the benefits are small (27% slower). But the side effects (17%) are almost as big as the benefit.

"it was going with a drug that might work or nothing"... Really? 17% brain swelling and 13% bleeding is = 30% risk as opposed to 20 some % improvement. Just another way to make more profit.

This might be big progress. It's probably easier to solve the side effects than Alzheimer's. Looks like a step in the right direction.

The formula is the same, whether we are fighting Alzheimer’s or plain old age: Use it severely - or lose it - mind and body. Not complicated and also not easy. But easy is for the grave.

Years ago another drug; Aricept was advertised with about the same credentials. Did it help in early cases in only a percentage of cases? Who really knows as cognitive decline can vary greatly in individuals. U
