Well if you go over there and shoot that way. You will hit an idle Chaugnar and that will not go away. Even where it died it still will be there. So if you kill it. You can kill it again. Killing it gets you the caressing souls and you can get as many caressing as you want. The door that opens for the boss fight only checks how many souls you have and not what souls you have.
