I think it’s because the difference between old and new gods is that the new are essentially just dudes with power. They may have expanded consciousness and amazing abilities but even those have limits even if they are high. Where as the old god don’t just represent but are fundamentally aspects of reality and their mere existence influences and puts it out in the world and lingers 1000s of years after they are gone.
@@ryancialone3045I remember the god of creation was in love with humans how does aspects of reality love and be disappointed when humans didn't love her back
yeah they aren't even really gods they're just humans with immense power. the only real "gods" are the ascended gods and older gods. that's why your regular human character can kill the heartless one
It's because creator doesn't know/doesn't want to answer that... Otherwise, they are happily answering questions about future hundred of years from now. Contradictions are Miro's high horse it seems... with the second game's endings and all.
I think it’s sort of implied that every new god just sort of looks down upon the new gods who are currently reigning, but Francois is just so arrogant and annoying that like everybody wants him dead
@@burgermeister8261 dude even canonically buttrapes people just to show how chad he sees himself, and yet he's allegedly so easy to defeat, i'd be mad too if i were a new god who knew i could whoop his ass
@@anon2034as the old knight and knight spectre are the same being, the new gods explain that while the old knight pledged his flesh to serve as Nosramus’ guard, his actual soul moved on to become the knight spectre. Essentially, the knight had somehow managed to split himself into a ghoul and spirit that both serve Nos, but only the spectre is his truer essence
Some might see it as stroking one’s ego, but to have yourself in the lore of your world and be a being that even gods don’t speak of goes incredibly hard
If there’s a third game, I hope it goes sci fy with inspiration from things like wh40k or the darker parts of Star Wars like the Sith or Clones that are meant only to die in war.
29:10 "the unknown old gods from beyond the blue sky." Well that explains them not knowing the Sulfer god. The other old gods are known, not unknown. This also implies that there are more unknown old gods, which is terrifying in its own way.
11:21 Humans… to impregnate? Does this imply that the Cavemother is still (genetically) human? Are the Cavegnomes (genetically) human? Also, iirc, Cavemother was supposed to have a coinflip attack. That could have been… weird. Maybe it was cut because of D’arce (having to program two scenarios for male and female).
Most of the creatures in the dungeons were warped by the God of the Depths I believe, including humans, into being what they are now. Some are stated to have been warped by Gro-goroth instead, like the Black Witch, and the Marriages like Lizardmage and Moonless Guards by Sylvian, of course. So in all likelihood yeah this thing was definitely a human too. I guess they can have intercourse with nornal humans despite being brid-like still. They're more humanoid than most of the enemies. Valteil had a similar interspecies intercourse thing going on with the Uterus' and those Embyo, implied to be his children, which he would then... I mean... refer to what Nas'hrah says to his hanging body... The coinflip attack, yeah. She bites your artery and you bleed out and die in your own blood. Maybe she does stuff to you afterwards, not sure. It might have been cut for D'arce, yeah. Or maybe just to make the fight easier.
Thank you for watchihng! aye, it must have taken like a good chunk of a day. The unedited footage must have been like over an hour long, because of all the reloading the save and having to redo the dialogue and such. Longest part was to order them, I was going off of a list that just listed every thing alphabetically regardless of what it was, so you'd have Cahara then Crow Mauler or something. I tried to order some parts, like putting the protagonists in the menu order, and every enem in the order you meet them in the game.
@@GHOSTLOVINGTOAST is he there? why? Because the main character kills him later so the great hall works differently, time speaking, so he was always there? I know he's there in the second game, of course, but in the first one?
I believe there might be a chance more is added by the time the third game rolls around, but I'm not sure. If that ends up being the case, sure. I'll update it.
Typically, you want to show, and not tell. This is all tell, but it’s pretty well executed and justified for how stellar the rest of the game is shown without telling.
Why do you think they are weaker? We see that a new god is burnt by him, but we don't even know whether it's dead now. It's clear that they have nothing to do with the world, at least, which makes them different from Nas'hrah.
I think the new gods just don't really give a shit about nash anymore and even if he burned all of them the new gods still wouldn't care, they are immortal anyway and they probably are already tired of his shit lmao
@@peterkarlheinzdivinagracia8662 They are all "discarded" gods. They all have ascended on the throne, ruled over the world for a limited time and got stuck in that hall after, being able to do nothing (or at least rule Ma'habre, that no one needs). It is understandable if they don't care about anything, since they all stuck there for like eternity, but they are not invincible since they were just ascended on the throne, and you know that you can kill such gods (Nas'hrah killing Francois before the fight starts). All in all, they want to die I guess, since they've failed to do their thing and Francois, Nilvan, Valteil, Ronn Chambara, Nosramus tried to do the same, to replace old gods that disappeared. But it's all pointless...
Tbh, we don't even know the how power of new gods is working. In ending where you become one, you apparently can "crush entire kingdoms under your strength" Yet you get killed by some random dude. Tormented, domination and enlightenment gods(don't remember their names) are pretty easily defeatable, but we can assume that they're did the same stuff. Heartless one is ridiculously strong, but defeatable by a mere mortal. Nasrah definitely hides his true strength when he joins your party. My best guess that it's just random and luck, as new gods abilities are determined by his personality and life (kinda like stands in Jojo) And maybe a bit of mastery over magic. Though, Osaa mentioned that it takes strong willpower and belief to use magic, so it can explain why new gods appear strong at first and then weaker the longer they live.
Probably a person's inner insecurities and struggles given a physical form under Rher's influence, since he's said to reveal your true nature in "truth under the moonlight".
@@okais2192 it is debetable of whether the human filth or his moonscorch is closer to the truth, personally the moonscorched characters look less like the truth to me and more like an Exaggeration of who they are. Abella is a masculine woman, so the moonlight just fucking turns her into a man with an elephant head, And what else does it mean? Is Abella related to elephants? Probably not.
@@dumbvillage9253 it's confirmed by Miro that the elephant head is a reference to how out of place Abella feels, like an "elephant in a porcelain shop". As to if they are exaggerations I didn't say anything about that, but it's clear that it's a reflection of their inner state.
@@okais2192 yeah literally just what he said, I mean all the proof you need is in marinas moonscorched form. That and the plant girl (forgot her name im so eepy rn) she turns into a mechanized humanoid and if you ask her "what happened to you" she goes "IVE ALWAYS BEEN THIS WAY" so it is their insecurities and how they feel deep down
@Teargelis Didn’t see it commented on or in the more info, but were all the questions datamined or is it possible there is still weird stuff to be asked? Just curious!
@@baaa838"and then, when the mere human wouldn't offer me sacrifice and grovel at my feet, I BURNED HIM WITH A SINGLE LOOK" *laughter breaks out as the new gods almost choke to death*
Miasma is probably an old spirit that possesed a sword and has something to do with the God of the Depths of Gro-Goroth considering the Crow Mauler (which is associated with God of the Depths) guards it, keeping the key to it's room safe.
Is this bugged or something? I keep putting in names I know for sure the Gods will answer to ( pocketcat) but every time, the Gods pretend to not know what im asking. Do I have to do something before they tell me anything?
You only get three questions? Ah, I don’t see why people complain this gives too much away, you’d have to either cheat the game data or look it up online if you wanted to see all possible dialog here.

Ok but being able to ask about the Woodsman when he's not even born at the time of Funger 1 is so cool. It feels like the Zelda Oracle games where you need both to understand the full thing except way cooler because some info about Funger 2 will be in Funger 1 and to be able to ask it you would have needed to get pretty far in Funger 2. It's awesome, I really like it.
