Urrrgh, that myth about weight change at death indicating the existence of (and passing of) a soul always irritates me. Why do bodies change weight like that? It ought to be pretty clear to anybody who's smelled one.
I believe that the neurological energy in the brain is what survives physical death. Energy can't be created or destroyed, it just changes form when it can't exist in one form of existence to exist in another. The universe at its heart is composed of countless forms of energy fields I agree, the weight change is garbage. Energy doesn't weigh anything
