The military that lived on the island is dead, they confirmed that this episode. All the soldiers left at the start with the dad and no one came back. No one that knew the dad was still alive. Everyone else at PADRE is either a kid or random survivors they recruited. No one knew about Krennick's identity, Sam and Ben just made people think it was a powerful man behind the glass known as Padre, they didn't know any other identity. No one thought their dad was Padre, that only became a thing when Sam said Padre is her father to try to keep the secret. Before that, she was just a loyal soldier to Padre, she didn't make people believe they were related.

Imagine trying to explain one of the stupidest plot lines in television history. Everything that happened is because daddy forgot his binoculars. Do you know how stupid that is? The writers and show runners are complete morons. There is no explaining this awfulness.

10:33 Y'all need to rewatch the episode, the military left with Krennick and they all died in the shipyard, they're some of the walkers you see. Everyone left at PADRE were the military kids who they told that their parents abandoned them because they knew they wouldn't be able to take vare of them. Shrike and Ben just created the padre identity and had him known as this powerful leader behind the glass. There was no military presence left on the island when they came back, all of the people left in padre are those original kids, any kids collectors have stolen or any adults they've recruited like Dwight and Sherry who all have jobs.

Finally! I've been waiting for your guys' reaction. I hope you've been doing alright! Edit: This was the first ever episode in The Walking Dead Universe where I had to stop and take a break. The brother acting like a toddler to bring his dad's binoculars back like "He can't see without them!" or when Shriek revealed that her brother is Padre, all the characters in the room just go "Oh wow that changes everything" when in reality it changes nothing. No one should care whether Padre is her father or brother, they're still bad people and that moment didn't need to be as dramatic as it was.

I think Ben/Crane has zero experience fighting walkers, which is why he acted like a toddler in that yard. From the moment he started screaming with all the walkers going towards him I thought for sure he was going to die.

@@imjuliewaters It's not about how he reacted on the yard, I'm referring to his behavior on the boat. He pushed and locked his sister just so he can take the binoculars to his dad. His belief that his dad needs those binoculars so much to put himself and his sister in danger is what was absurd. Even if he had zero experience with Walkers, the guy was at least in his late teens and should have had more common sense.

Very happy to see Daniel. I think they very intentionally did not confirm a death for Charlie - thinking maybe they changed their minds on her death once Madison was coming back. They know we want to see that. I have no idea what miracle they came up with in the apocalypse for radiation poisoning. Already annoyed at it lol

Anyone on the island who was military went to the shipping containers and died that day along with the dad. All these years and the kids left behind think their parents abandoned them. When they got back to the island they said the parents ran off. Anybody new to the island had no reason to suspect the dad wasn't around because "he" was still giving out orders. Crane gave the orders to Shrike wgo gave them to the other soldiers/workers.

I always love a flashback episode. I've heard some people are upset with who Padre is, but I think it works way better than it being the father or someone we know like Strand or Troy

they ''kidnapped'' shrike and they teleported into the dark room with the glass to ask for clarity on why padre is so villainous, they get the answers they wanted and all of a sudden, shrike has the upper hand and sends in some guards lmao? they litteraly lost me and i must say im starting to be glad that this is the last season because appearantly writing something good that actually makes sence is too hard for these writers, to me it feels like its just such a shame because still i believe this show could be 1000% better than it is, it is not the characters but its the plot that has conveniences after conveniences, if someone needs to see or talk to someone they just teleport in. everything about this season feels disjointed AF just like season 7 it is litteraly all over the place. they could have made the flashback scenes alot cooler and better. the fckin kid that goes running after his dad with the benoculars, shrike sees paint on the wall and all of a sudden theres a whole horde coming out of nowhere. the cringe is real ive already seen episode 4 and i must say i am really really let down by it. the only good thing about the episode is that they touch on morgans story from the start. but aside from that everything goes so convenient again and everything is so predictable af.

100% agree with the grievances about the flip flopping or inconsistent personalities/decisions. Something noteworthy is the fact that they are confused kids with not so conventional upbringings. What may have helped is if the main characters pointed out the confused behaviour and acknowledged the possibility of the kids being confused from their psyops

The color code on the containers matches the kids outfits, well except the desert troopers and the fencers....lol. The containers say the region on the country they contain items for. I do not trust these show runners, so what's inside, do I care? Strand is my last hope....

i think if troy becomes a flashback.. he has to do with the original (father that dies in frout of stryke and the brother).. i think the original padre dads military outfit - medical outpost at the docks was cannected to troys base.. that troy and his dick mates - were sending pple to them before the docks got over run.. i think madison and alisha are different because he had them seperate from the prisoners (nick trav and luciana).. i think literally everyone thru troys original base was blood tested.. and also given a 'test - cure' and then some flipped out into the universe (sppon to eye did the trick for madison and co).. chances are the were all given the same 'cure' and literally not told this at the time... even troy may not be privvy to that fact.. but he kept persistently studying them at the ranch till nick ripped up his notes.. and his was about the time that even troy realised there was no hope for humanity etc,... stryke and the brother may have madison original notes - back from the troy intake.. that may be why they have blatently kept madison alive at all..

I love your guys' honesty. I feel the same exact way. This season is fucking wack. Great moments (especially the reunion with Madison and Daniel) but the writing is so piss poor and nonsensical. They learned nothing from season 7. Sad.

PADRE's motivation kinda weak. Still enjoyed the episode. A lot of these problems could have been solved if they revealed everything. Like PADRE forced Madison to take kids because they threatened to kill her kids, plus PADRE killed Odessa's mom.

Padre story line has really annoyed me with this episode. So lame the way the son caused his fathers death....just cringe. Lol 😂 yep F**kwits is perfect way to describe them. Where the heck are the rest of the original military staff in the present day 🤷🏻‍♀️ can’t have just been the dad & his kids 12 years ago. Aaarrrggghhh could’ve linked in CRM to PADRE really easily but too lazy to do it. Glad to see Daniel ..... BUT Why wasn’t psycho Padre leader kids killed 🤷🏻‍♀️ Please god make episode 4 better. I’m determined to see it through to the end of the show but does it have to be so painful with all the flip flopping 😩

Another really bad episode. Episode 4 is just as bad. I dont get why people say that its a huge improvement from season 7, it isnt. Nothings changed, its still just shit. Which is just so fuckin frustrating because they have a really great production value and sets, but the writing is truly awful which makes for mind numbingly dull characters. I did want Troy to return before the season started but i really hope he doesnt now because they will just totally ruin his character. Such a shame.

to me this season feels like the ''are they gonna die or not?'' from season 7 with the flashback storytelling of season 4, mixed with everyone teleporting everywhere in season 5. so this could very well be the worst season of them all imo. i still hold out hope they make something out of it, but even with episode 4 they shit on the main twd by adding such cringy moments and dialogue between characters people magically appearing and litteraly having to explain on screen how they knew they were there is so damn boring wtf... this episode would be alot better if they just scrapped the classic fear stuff out of it.

And after what was supposed to really, be the best episode of the season (EP4) i hold no hope because if thats the best theyve got then things can only get worse, which is bad because they are already very low. Its crazy because people are saying EP4 is the best FTWD episode on the show, its madness, they are so blinded by nostalgia (which wasnt even done well anyway) its wild. IMDB 8.0 ROTTEN TOMATOES 95% **Truly one of a kind masterpiece.** It has WON AN OSCAR And GOLDEN GLOBE including 32 other USA Filmfestival awards. **It is a must must watch.** IT HAS ALMOST EVERYTHING YOU WOULD WANT IN A MOVIE. it is not her, it is the writing. imagine you being an actor and having to act out shit like what happened in this episode, having to ask cringe questions to the villain popping the window to reveal the big bad padre and overall just cringe conversations like no1 in real life talks like that. so having to act like you talk like that must be pretty hard and it shows.

Love watching yall but I'm sorry guys I am not liking this season. it has turned into the lil mo show. Our people seem like they have all lost their minds and what they are going to find a cure or make someone immune to the virus. I have watched ALL TWD shows but I feel more and more that they are dropping the ball. now with the other spin offs I just dont know. Daryl in France there is going to be a language barrier. I am from the south and we don't speak that much French down here maybe in Louisiana but not in most of the other Southern States. and yes I'm still a little salty on how they rushed the very last season of the main show. plus no Rick Daryl reunion sorry i'm ranting lol. Just saying AMC needs to do better by its FANS.

This season sucks ass. Frfr. Im binging it rn and I can't get through it. The son rushing into a walker infested shipyard to give his father binoculars was the stupidest story line ever. We could have all used those binos to see what coming a mile a way. Someone was about to die. The writing and acting is so contrived and forced. I hope that take morgan from this show and move him over to Dead City. Better writing so far on that one.

It's not that difficult to understand guys. Shrike/Sam & Ben feel weak for being unable to protect and save their father from zombies as CHILDREN. That fact gives them the sick believe that ALL Children are gonna be weak as much as them if they stay with their parents. THAT'S why they seperate kids from their parents. Along with trying to give them a cure, which would basically make them into even better fighters. It feels a bit like you guys are complaining about this season just because you are tired of Fear in general. And in my opinion, it's not really a fair view. But that's just me.

Everyone was super hyped for this season of Fear...all TWD channels and all the comments that I saw after the season 8 trailer came out were highly positive and there was a huge sense of excitement. People are complaining because everything about this season has been shit...and it's such a bummer.

Sam & Ben cruelty manipulating people, stealing children away from their parents lying to them for years saw their parents abandoned them, poisoning their minds for Sam & Ben's benefit. They hide, scheme and do testing on KIDS killing many of them because they felt weak for not saving their dad? Sorry that does not make sense and this storyline is simply not good. We were very hyped for this season and still feel it can get better. Right now it's not. That's how we feel right now, the writing has been suspect along with the story. The story is definitely off, but we do see their could be some progress it just depends on where they are going with it!
