Thought I'd clarify some things I might not have explained very well in this video. 1: I'm aware radiation isn't a cure but a temporary solution, but I still find it weird June discovered this treatment. 2: I know Morgan says towards the end of the season that the reason he worked for padre for 8 years is because he tried to escape once with Mo and they both nearly died, so therefore he thought staying at Padre would be best for Mo. I still don't buy that he would've spent 8 years there, he and Grace would've found a way to escape with Mo sooner. I mean Madison escaped with her in pretty easy fashion once she was out of the cell. I also just don't see Morgan being a kid snatching "collector" under any circumstances. 3: I realised I forgot to mention that Finch dies, and he dies off-screen. I thought Dwight and Sherry splitting up immediately after their kid dies was odd. Sure some relationships break down after the death of a child, but it doesn't normally happen on the same day the kid dies! You'd think they would try to support one another intially, instead of going their seperate ways. Zeke and Carol split on TWD after Henry's death, but they didn't split on the same day he died, it was a gradual process. They tried to get past it but couldn't. I just found this break-up really odd. Thanks for watching. Really appreciate the support.
I haven't watched this awful shit-show for 2 seasons now - prior to watching the review, these clarifications alone confirm that this was an excellent decision.
I couldn't have been less excited for Fear's 8th and final season after S7's catastrophic failure but somehow, Dead City managed to be more worth my while than Fear S8A ever could be. When I had no anticipation nor any expectations for the Maggie & Negan show at all.
For #2, when Morgan and Mo "nearly die" they are in the middle of a swamp and shoot off a flare or some shit to summon PADRE, so they are "about to die" but have time for PADRE to come find and save them? In s7, Grace and Morgan send John Sr. into a huge hoard wearing the lamest armor ever because they prefer sending her into a nuclear wasteland than to be in the safety of Strand's tower. I don't buy for a second that the danger of the swamp was worse than the danger in s7. The whole thing was so contrived. And 7 years ago, PADRE would have been made up of people ranged like 3-7 considering the bulk of PADRE is no older than 15 now. Morgan relied on infants to save him and Mo and then let himself be enslaved by them for 7 years???? So. Stupid.
Let’s be completely honest…the writing is nonsensical bs mixed with utter garbage 😂😂 they didn’t have a single solitary element that made any sense on any level…chatgbt would have written a better story.
It honestly gets me just as mad as it does then. It honestly hurts that the bad seasons even tainted the good seasons to an extent, just because you know what happens after.
Remember that they cheaped out by skipping nine chaotic days of the initial virus breakout as far back as Season One. This show was nothing but a time and money milking event from the get go. We just didn't know it at the time.
With Shrike telling Odessa that Madison killed her mom, it's worse than your comparison. It's like someone stabbed a guy, you find him and call an ambulance, then the same guy who stabbed the other guy blows up the ambulance, then after the stabbed guy dies, the guy who stabbed him goes to the guy' parents and tells them that he killed him but it was your fault because "you made him believe that he would be safe", and then the parents take his side.
THANK YOU!!! My gosh i haven’t seen anyone talk abt that scene and how ridiculous it was. Padre’s goons killed her mother, not Maddie and she was already looking for a way to get to her child it had nothing to do with Madison “giving her hope”. I wasn’t even angry at them using those manipulative bs tactics i was more angry at the writers having Madison say nothing to defend herself as if they were right! Exactly like when Strand didn’t fight back against Daniel when he made it seem like Ofelia’s death was on Strand bcus he wasted, what a few hours of his time. When Ofelia left atleast a week prior to Daniel finding Strand there was no proof Daniel would’ve found her when she wasn’t even in Mexico anymore. Not to mention STRAND saved Ofelia when Daniel almost got her killed in that fire… Not that it made any sense and they never explain why Strand continued to lie, it made sense at first but once the crew at the dam were killed he was safe, what did he think was gonna happen or thought he stood to gain?! I sat there screaming at the tv screen for a while during both those scenes.
I had appendicitis when I was 17 years ago. And it was hard just to walk around. There's no way an eight-year-old kid would be able to run around with a gun😂
The fact that AMC refuses to let the series die even with such low viewership is something I will never understand. Basically everything outside of a few seasons of the main series has been absolutely dreadful and that adds up to like 15 seasons of bad TV. The amount of trash is really staggering
Even though the viewers dropped when some people got all pissed off that Glenn and Abe died. TWD still was the most watched show on Cable. You stopped but a lot of us never did. You think it's bad TV, but millions of us say otherwise. Why are you even here?
@@patricenagel9442 I watched the whole series. Season 9 and 10 were a return to form, ill admit that. I'm mostly ticked that after 11 rocky seasons of TV I STILL don't have an actual conclusion for the MAIN CHARACTER of the series. Instead of a proper ending to AMCs longest running series, we got a commercial for a bunch of spinoffs. Pretty insulting if you ask me
@@therabbi9848From the first episode it was worth keeping Ricks story unresolved for his own spin off While he was the main on the main show, there was a huge cast so it’s nice from the first episode alone of The Ones That Live that we got more focus on Rick then we have done in a long time, something even the main show didn’t always do cuz of the big cast Having the spin off only focus on two mains from the main show is gonna allow us to spend more time with them and I’m all for that, and the first episode of the ones who live was really solid and it helps that Andrew and Danai are involved creatively
The only way I'll touch any more FTWD is through your vids. I never dropped the main show at its worst but season 7 of Fear really gave me trust issues
Just imagine if in S8B, Madison and friends take spaceflight above the Earth's atmosphere in the style of Fast & Furious 9. Then show would truly hit rock bottom more than it already has.
Haha at this point I wouldn't even mad. At least it would more entertaining than 8A. The show is already terrible, they might as well just make 8B as dumb as possible.
Troy got Sucked into an UFO right before the dam collapses. and repaired his brain with plasma from alien stam's so hes alive. now troy gave the aliens information and now they want more test subjects so troy was send back to earth to get madison to be also sucked inside the UFO.
I thought about doing it a while ago tbh. Always risky changing a channel name when you've built an audience, but predatoure was annoying to spell, annoying to pronounce and just not a great name imo.
I can’t get you out of my head whenever I watch a walking dead scene where the characters just monologue for 5 minutes about what happened off screen. Dead City was bad for this too.
I found Dead City for the most part managed to break it up in ways that it was far more entertaining to watch Daryl Dixon did it even better and the character writing was well done with the characters feeling like real people and talking like real people, yet it isn’t just a carbon copy of the main show
Ahhh another episode of Josh loses his mind over the insanity that is Fear The Walking Dead, I remember when this show was touted as being better than the Walking Dead itself… I yearn for the timeline where Morgan wasn’t shoehorned into a show he had no right to be in and he was there to fight the Whisperers while Madison and her kids fought the Proctors. A man can dream I suppose.
Morgan staying on TWD would have been the best decision, especially considering the writing massively improved from Season 9 onwards and with characters been written far more better which Morgan needed
@@dylanburton4955 Exactly. Seeing Morgan and Carol (post-Henry death) team up and wreck some Whisperers would have been god-tier television. Hell, if they didn’t want Morgan in the show - have him die instead of Carl. Rick loses the guy who saved his life at the start and adopts his peaceful philosophy to honor his memory and the impact he had on the world. The literal worst thing they could’ve done to Morgan was also the worst thing for Fear and his character and that show got tanked because of it. I refuse to give Gimple any credit for any good TWD content anymore, The Ones Who Live is produced solely by Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira and they are doing a good job.
@@colderratic5681 Gimple is involved with the ones who live but he seems to be playing into his strengths that were present in episodes like Too Far Gone and Clear (It is crazy that the same guy who gave us great episodes like that was also responsible for the main shows decline) But yes Andrew and Danai are involved so I think that helps and contributes towards the improved quality because then it means Gimple isn’t the one solely running the show. I think it also helps that they’re only 6 episodes so the pacing can’t afford to have any filler He wrote the first episode of the ones who live and it was probably his best written episode in a long time and played to the strengths we saw in Season 4 and 5 of the main show before the quality dipped
@@dylanburton4955 I’m tentative to give him too much credit but if the season as a whole can stick the landing, then I’ll be happy to praise him for somehow bringing a sinking ship to safe harbor. I agree the pilot was fantastic so hopefully the other episodes can follow suit and we can truly enjoy this universe again.
It was a pretty solid start to the spin offs and the writing while not always perfect was the best it had been in years when it came to spin offs Then Daryl Dixon absolutely nailed it, the characters felt like real people and the pacing was really good and it felt completely different from the other spin offs with the cinematography and music been particular stand outs and Norman does a really good job And while only one episode of the ones who live has dropped, it’s been really good so far. I was worried about it with Gimple been involved but he seems to be finally playing to his strengths that was present in Season’s 4 and 5 of the main show. Plus it helps that Danai and Andrew are involved creatively and I think that was a good choice cuz Gimple can be a good writer but clearly when he’s the sole one doing it, the quality can suffer This episode in particular had the classic Gimple speech from Rick, yet it felt more authentic and real and not an eye rolling type
If we never get a final Ftwd review from Josh, I think it's a safe bet to say he died of alcohol poisoning while trying to endure the last episodes. RIP JoshyJosh 😭😭😭
22:00 It's like C+G saw the original plan for the show where Erickson wanted the Clarks to become villains and how epic that would've been, and so they gave us this with PADRE. "Look guys, they're villains!"
talking dead's stupidity is like an abusive relationship - it hits you hard on your facepalms and it's more like faceslaps, you try to get out of it's gravity pull, you say you will never watch it again but you still come back to do selfacelapping. worst thing that can happen to a show (seasons 1-3 were great)
36:04 That scene where he pulls out the juice and says that line just made me burst out laughing. It felt so "breaking the fourth wall", like the writers finally acknowledged that this is all so silly and this show is not serious. I can't believe this reality exists in the same universe as the main show. I just have to believe everything after Season 3 isn't canon and is some kinda Morgan fever dream bc he's my favourite character and Fear ruined him.
It's so sad how badly Morgan got ruined. I think his character would've been great in the main show for seasons 9 through 11. Even though I didn't think the last 2 seasons were great, he would've been used better there than in Fear.
Fear The Walking Dead has been killing off to many characters to the point that they have to bring characters back from the dead like Madison, Troy and Cole and the ones that they don’t kill off want out like Travis, Nick, John Dorie, Alicia and now Morgan.
Hey I always found your Ftwd videos hilarious and well structured. Will there ever be a season 8 part 2 video? Although it was a mess, was nice seeing the characters say farewell at the very last episode, especially strand. Would love to hear your opinion on the chaos of the second to last episode 😂. Regardless good luck with your future plans and you are one of my fave RU-vidrs
Loving the new name 😂😂😂😂 ah we missed you so much Josh and glad you’re back it’s been way too long 😭😭 this season was a chore to get through and everything you said was so hilarious and true! One thing I always said is that they bring back these old characters because they know they’ll get more views like when Madison and Daniel returned and now it’s Troy. I’m glad Morgan is gone I love Lennie James and I can’t wait to see Save Me season 3 but, I feel like they written Morgan just as a filler for the series after Nick wanted to leave. The Padre stuff was so stupid I don’t know why they continued with it because it was pointless really.
Ok, so you brought up Mo's age, but Finch is 6 and a half played by a 15 year old. The age gap is older than the character! Daniel has spent 7 years, the bulk of the apocalypse at this point, wandering around a swamp with random parents trying to find PADRE, a coastal community that is always making chatter on the walkies. He hasn't found PADRE in 7 years??? Small bone to pick, we did see Morgan sell out Dwight and Sherry at the end of s7. He gets access to PADRE by telling them where pregnant Sherry is so that they can harvest her baby. But that doesn't make things much better. In fact, Dwight and Sherry should hate Morgan more. We also should have seen them get captured. And how do the flaming walkers go to the house rather than going after Dwight and Sherry, who are shouting and making noise outside of the silent house? In the after episode interview, Ian and Andrew talk about how difficult it was to pull off the red filter. lmao. Like, the whole think looked terrible and it was a cheap trick to skip over showing how things happened in the episode. This season was so bad.
Also, it has been 12 years I think, based on the time it shows for the flashback. And in the flashback, they aged down the 30 year old Shrike actress to be a little kid by putting her in pigtails, and her brother is aged down by having him run around flailing his arms and screaming daddy.
@@BlueBlur2003There's another Walking Dead series that's better then what we got with TWD tv series - ru-vid.com/group/PLiQN07pSszPErZAMX9iFR_iUfvu6nRKdt
Season 8 was utter crap. It made the original series look like a masterpiece in comparison, its the same bullshit. The first couple of series of the show was great.
19:58 Lmfao ikr the chatter on the radio is legit in this show. surely CRM would also have heard the ''chatter on the radio'' i geuss? why aint they comin. these writers try to make sense of teleporting in this show by walkie talkie chatter on the goddamn radio....
Cant think of any writers in the strike that deserve anymore money or money to begin with tv and movie writers these days lack anything resembling talent
Lol dude I definitely wanna hear you talk about the return of Troy . Like how is he alive?? He got his head smashed in and drowned at the dam . Just another attempt to save this clusterf*ck of a show since season 4.
I saw the leaked footage yesterday of him meeting madison, and apart from one of his eyes being a different colour now he looks fine. He tries to make a big deal of how hideous his looks, but he's looks normal, does not look like a man who had been hit in the head twice with a hammer
Usually when a character gets surrounded and eaten by walkers, theres nothing left of their body to turn into a walker. But Fear has done this multiple times.
Since the Maggie x Negan spin off actually wasnt bad, you think you will give it a try? I know you said you didnt care much for TWD after the ending, which fair enough, but it definitely wasnt a let-down tbh
Fear the exposition was probably just a throwaway joke you said without thinking but i want you to know it had me losing my shit laughing because of how dryly you said it
I been waiting for this, ever since i dropped it at the end of season 4 your videos are how i peer into the world of how shit things can truly be. The hot air balloon scene you covered was what made me decide not to continue
Morgan said he sees red...so lets make him actually have red vision! - It is so childish and really patronising. It isn't arty or smart. Just a very obvious gimmick I am honestly surprised they didnt do earlier.
I was monitoring the chatter on the walkie and heard your review. I think AMC knows Fear was everyones favorite show to hate watch so they intentionally kept making it worse and worse.
When they said that girl was “moe” I checked out completely 😂😂 let’s be honest here, most shows and movies are concerned with “checking boxes” instead of telling a good story. This whole season was teleporting in circles 😂😂
Dwight and Sherry don’t like Morgan because he told PADRE where all the people on the rafts were saying they had a pregnant woman, specifically talking about Sherry, leading them and their kid to get taken by PADRE.
This show is abysmal. I gave up after the second part of S4 and its only gotten worse with each subsequent season. AMC has butchered this franchise. At best its mediocre and at worst its absolutely horrendous and embarrassing. I'm so tired of properties I used to enjoy being ran into the ground by hacks who can't write and don't understand the material and greedy corporations who milk everything to death.
I was always under the impression Morgan had already put dwane down back in season 3 when he told Rick the story. So Morgan saw red after his mistake, which cost Dwane his life, so he decided the solution was to chain his dead son up for years? Rather than put him down? And risk him killing someone else, just as happened with his zombie wife? I am sure it was implied (by sheer logic) he put dwane down years ago - but they realised it wasnt explicitly said, so they decided to retcon it for the sake of trying to bring a feeling of the original TWD to the show by giving them a reason to return to Kings.
Forbes published an article called "You Really Don’t Get How Stupid ‘Fear The Walking Dead’ Is, Believe Me", and so far it has me rolling, and I am only down to "I could list many examples but I would like to just focus on two things: Madison Clark (Kim Dickens) and walkie-talkies. You know what it is." Might be an entertaining read for you. I don't want to link it because youtube will probably flag me as spam lol.
It's really staggering how fucking awful this show is, I DON'T understand how people can defend it and say its good, or even look only the bright side and only see the positives. No one is talking about how DUMB everything that happens is
You made me laugh so hard at 6:40. It annoys me as well that children in TV shows are portrayed as precocious. Not only because that's unrealistic, but also because it makes the children's characters completely interchangeable. If I remember correctly, you always liked Judith. I never got why. Wasn't she just as much a smartass?
Judith is well written and felt natural with the time-skip. where Mo is on our screens 24/7 and everything that comes out of her mouth feels damn cringe. judith is cute and mo is damn cringe nobody talks like that.
How about Morgan finding the rifle untouched in a house which looks very clean? It is totally unrealistic to find anything useful in a house located in such accessible area where everybody go check for anything useful. Not only that but also the rifle looks shiny like somebody is polishing it almost everyday.
47:03 oh yeah! they started episode 5 in a boat going back to P.A.D.R.E.. I'd have to re-watch the first two episodes of The Walking Dead, because I don't remember King's County being close to a large body of water. Come to think of it, the later episodes establish P.A.D.R.E. to be an island, it was a pretty big focus. What Island? What island that is close to King's County? and Sanctuary? This season suffered some serious Last Season of Game of Thrones syndrom
I just discovered your channel looking for FTWD recaps. Thank you for watching FTWD S8. Your review saved me many hours of viewing and had me laughing so much 🤣 your candid dry delivery is refreshing 😆 It's turned into such a cringe show now. What a shame. I have persevered thru s5-7 and could not bring myself to watch s8 based on imdb ratings knowing I'd be groaning and eye rolling so much lol 🤦♀️🤦♀️🙄🙄 Not even Madison coming back can save it, especially now that Alicia has left! So they will never be reunited on screen. I agree with all the points you raise. How on earth do these guys still have jobs?!! They're awful writers with shit ideas. Just lazy poorly executed storytelling. I wouldn't trust them putting together an instructional manual on how to watch paint dry, they'd f**k that up too 😆😆 I look forward to checking out your S8B review and will check out your other vids too! 😃
I had my appendix removed when I was 24 years old, I was at worked and doubled over in pain. In 2 hours I was in surgery. WHen I had my surgery they kept us in the hospital for a week with kick ass drugs. Now your home the same day and are lucky if you get 10 vicodin pills..
Good to see you again, mate. As for the show, I decided not to waste my time on it after 30 minutes of the 1st episode knowing it's going to be dog shit. Looks like I made a good decision.
I knew this video was coming, holly hell I managed to get through the first 5 episodes and they are some of the worst media I've ever had to stomach through.
Wat cracks me up is he was being eaten by 100s of walkers, but he only has one bite. Why didn't they tear him apart? This is another stupid move on the writers part
Exactly! Remember on TWD when walkers used to literraly tear people apart. Noah got his jaw ripped off! But the walkers just all stand around and wait for him to finish saying his lines
You must have castanets the size of Leicester Space Centre to cover all of this. I bailed after Season Seven, and felt at that point I'd held on two seasons too long. Thanks for sitting through this slop so I didn't have to. Mucho respecto
At least people can spell and pronounce the new name 😂 came up with the old channel name when I was in my early 20s doing videogame stuff, didn't really much thought into it tbh. Needed a change 👍
I genuinely haven't watched fear since the episode where Alicia 'died' (which turned out to not actually be a death), I haven't even watched Madison's return, which I was kind of excited about just because, hey, it's Madison.
