The part where Chelsea talked about the "hot scientist who hyperfixates on something gross like bugs or reptiles" trope made me laugh out loud because my fiance and I are biologists with hyperfixations on bugs and reptiles. It made me stop and think wait... are we... like super hot??? 🤣🤣🤣

My only comment about this movie after I watched it is: This is 2000s as fuck. Also wild coincidence, but as James started mentioning the coyotes, I started hearing my neighbor's dogs howling outside. I kept pausing the video mid-howls to see if it was me or the video. 🤣

So, I used to love this movie, need to watch again, but one more similar concept this movie feels like it uses elements from that I think of is the Japanese versions of One Missed Call, with the red candy ball. If you think coyote noises are scary while inside a suburban house, try camping out in the middle of the woods, 30+ minutes from civilization, and hearing packs of coyotes yipping from all directions at 2am. They sound like children laughing or crying. And then try experiencing that as a 12-year-old... boy scouts was traumatizing, and I wasn't even one of the thousands of SA victims.

As someone who just watched this for the first time in my life last night, I can confidently say that all the critics, and James and Chelsea, are full of it. The movie wasn't bad at all. It was honestly pretty creative and a lot of fun. I personally gave it a 70%.

The discussion around "do you as the police tell the public not to go to the killer website" is actually handled a little in a similar thriller movie (no ghosts, just bad guys 😔) from 2008 - Untraceable. It does have some pretty gnarly kills though its not explicit (think its a 15). And that also has a weirdly stacked cast. Maybe I should request coverage of it one day because its also that fun brand of 2000's horror trying to tackle early-ish internet/tech culture

This sounds similar to South Korea’s Nth Rooms. It had some dudes that went by “Doctor” and “Godgod”. This movie is tamer. Real life is a real horror show man. Yikes.
