As a needle felting lover for 5 years but haven't really gotten time because I don't know what to make and how to start, let me tell you your videos are so helpful and well understanding, i love your bright attitude aswell! Keep goin and thank you for making tutorials like this, sending love from latvia!
Hi Lisa, thank you for this, I love stop motion animation but I'm not very experienced at it but I was thinking of sharing my process of learning the best ways to needle felt the characters and hopefully create some animation with the results. Would you be interested in that? Glad you're enjoying the videos 😁
I used to make a lot of things out of metal and wood which required me a lot of space and gear. It also was quite dirty and noisy. Now I live in a camper truck (thanks to the plandemic). So, I'm new to this hobby, and as an old man on top of that.... It's just so relaxing. I already made quite a few animals and each one turns out better than the former. I love that thing as I can quickly make funny and beautiful little objects I can later offer to the people I love. In my learning journey, you are my favorite teacher out there. I love the information# the tone and humor as well. Thank you for sharing your art, really! 🥰 Greetings from Belgium !
Thank you so much for your lovely comments, so lovely to hear about your background and your journey, glad you're enjoying needle felting, it is relaxing isn't it 😊 so glad you like my videos, thanks for watching in beautiful Belgium 😁
Thanks for this comment, it's good to hear that you'd be interested in a video on making things for stop motion videos, it's definitely on my to do list, thanks for watching
Thanks for this tutorial. I have a longggg list of ideas I want to make in needle felt but am afraid to jump into it without knowing what I'm doing first. I've only seen a few of your tutorials so far but I'm eager to see more!
Aw thank you for this, maybe try starting with something simple, perhaps not with an armature, but just have a go and get a feel for how it all works 😊 glad your eager to see more, hope you find my tutorials helpful, thanks for watching
i really enjoy that you specify why you do things :] it really helps me to understand why you are doing the things that you do, and when i should apply them! it gives us the information we need to use our brains, be intuitive, and know when to go off the rails!
Aw thank you for your lovely comments, so glad you like the way I explain things, you've put it beautifully, I also think it's makes it easier to remember techniques if you understand why you're doing something 😊 so glad you liked it, thanks for watching
Thank you for your wonderful and witty tutorials Julie. I am very very new to felting and just started watching videos for tips and tricks and find myself continually watching your videos! 😊
That was the most entertaining way to learn, ever ❤ thanks for the dedication and absolutely, YES, it would be amazing to learn more about how needle felting can be used in stop motion (and how to make posable skeletons, too).
Aw thank you for your lovely comments, glad you're interested in the stop motion or posable skeleton, it's on my list of projects to do 😊 glad you found it entertaining, thanks for watching
Thanks for this, I am planning to do a video on making a character for stop motion, I love dabbling in stop motion, sounds like you do too 😁 so watch this space, thanks for watching
Thanks for this, making felted animals for stop motion is definitely something I intend to do more of in the future, it's on my to-do list 😊 thanks for watching
Really enjoying your channel, glad I stumbled upon it. I ordered some more stuff to tackle making the kitty version of my Cheshire oc, possibly multiple versions of him! The prospect of making him a physical 3D piece is very exciting to me!
Glad your enjoying the videos, hope you have fun making a needle felted version of your cat, sounds great, would love to see how you get on, if you want to send me pictures you could DM me on Instagram: instagram.com/julies_felted_friends/ or email it to me at juliesfeltedfriends@gmail.com happy felting and thanks for watching 😊
@@juliesfeltedfriends my package was supposed to come today but it got delayed OTL I attempted to make an “egg dog” instead lol. I figure why not practice, but also because I was already waiting all week, so by the time I finally get that package I might lose motivation! So I wanted to get into a project in the meantime~ (Technically yesterday though because it’s midnight by me)
Thanks for this, it's good to know your be interested, I have a few other things in the pipeline at the moment but it's definitely in the list 😁 thanks for watching 😊
Thank you for such a clear description. I am trying my hand at using an armature for the first time in a small dog. I am I interested in items for stop motion animation. ❤
Aw thank you for your lovely comments, I hope your small dog goes well and this has helped, thanks for letting me know you're interested in items for stop motion, I am planning to do more on this, hopefully soon. Thanks for watching
Aw thank you for this and thanks for watching, you can find the template for the cat here: juliesfeltedfriends.com/index.php/cat-armature-template/ Good luck with your cats protection craftalong 🐱
Hey Julie, I hope you are doing well. Can you explain how I can make the mouth and the other features in the head to be moveable as you showed at the end of the video for stop motion? I know it might be a hard question, but I will appreciate any explanation.
Hi there, thanks for this, I made a frame out of wire for the mouth of the spider at the end of this video, so that it was moveable, the eyes are made from polymer clay and placed into a socket that I felted so they are loose and easily moved. When you make the eyes out of polymer clay make sure you put a pin hole in the pupil so that you can animate them easily. I explain this a bit more near the end of this short video here: ru-vid.comqhXwrTVPSLY?si=igqHRAou9oyp0gBN I have been meaning to finish a cat that I wanted to animate but haven't got round to it yet, sorry about that 😊 hope this helps and thanks for watching
Yes I believe you can needle felt using your cats fur, although I've never done it myself, sadly I don't have a cat at the moment. Hope you have fun felting, would love to hear how you get on 😊 thanks for watching
Thanks for the question, you can use black core wool if you have it, but you don't have to. In one of my other videos I make one of these wire armatures into a mostly black cat, by using white carded core wool and then coating it in black wool. The main reason for using core wool is usually core wool is a cheaper wool than dyed coloured wools, and if it's carded core wool will be easier to felt into shape, hope this helps. You can see me add wool this armature to make a cat here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-35sI8Yr3FKI.html Thanks for watching
Thanks for this, that's good to hear, to be honest at the moment it's an unfinished project in my cupboard but I will put it higher up on my 'to do' list, thanks for watching
I love trapdoor 😁 do you mean the voice of the armature sounds like drut? I've probably been subtly influenced by watching it 😊 hope you liked it, thanks for watching
@@juliesfeltedfriends oh my gosh, thank you for replying! I meant the stop motion spider, it looks like Drut, the small spider. I'm only 13 and my birthday is in 5 days, but you've inspired me to start felting. My parents and grandparents have brought me up with 'dont you open that trap doooooorr your a foool if you daaaareee 😈' and my childhood soundtrack 😅😅
Oh wow your parents and grandparents have got good taste 🙂 glad you liked the spider, the likeness to drut wasn't intentional, have fun needle felting, hope you have a fab birthday 🎂 and don't go opening any trap doors 😁
Thanks for this, I find pipe cleaners so much easier when wrapping the wool round, the wool has something to hold onto 😊 hope you find this useful, thanks for watching
Oh I see, you could try wrapping a pipe cleaner around the twisted wire, I've seen another needle felter do this to help the wool to cling to the wire. Hope this or the tape idea helps, thanks
@@juliesfeltedfriends cheers. I also managed to do that fur technique but I left the wool u cut so it could be a little more scruffy and fluffy for my character
Thank you, Julie! You are delightful and a great teacher. I'm a brand new beginner and it's fascinating to see and learn about this felting world. I'm really looking forward to all of your videos.
