You are wrong. The reason Jowie was handed a death sentence is to prevent him from ever leaving the jail. He will never get a presidential parole. That's why he wasn't handed a life sentence, because with life sentence its possible to leave jail at some point, through presidential parole or if one proves he has improved his behavior.

This is misleading. The 2010 constitution didn't do away with the death sentence. It is just that there is some sort of "moratorium" on the execution of condemned person. Anybody on death row can legally be hunged at anytime! Nothing in the Kenyan law prohits the execution of a person condemned to death by a competent court!
