FOD is one of the most brilliant chiptune composers of our era, for his early attempts this is some seriously incredible work. Not only does he have mastery over trackers which can be quite esoteric programs to write music in, but he also has a firm understanding of what goes into a well-made composition. I would be lying if I said his music didn't cause me to burst into tears in awe of what he's managed to accomplish here.
"Surfing On A Sine Wave", "Funknitium-99" and "Dreamscaping" are my favorites from FoD. And now this just joined the list of favorites. It's simply amazing.
@@ApertureGD Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to announce our new dictator of what's funny and what's not. It's Aperture. Now I know he might not qualify due to the fact that he doesn't even make jokes, but he'll do just fine trust me. I know this because this one time he went out of his way to insert himself into a conversation and tell someone that they weren't funny.
EDIT: As a lot of people were offended by my comment - I was wrong, it was the "1bit symphony" instead of the 555. I made a 555 timer piano thingie as a child, and I misremembered the schematic - they're pretty similiar :P Below is the original comment, presumably false. Fun fact: The background is actually a real working schematic! The IC is 555, one of the oldest integrated timer circuits, in this configuration it would create audible square-wave noises, by tuning the slider you'd be able to control the pitch.
That's not true. If it were a 555, you would need a timing capacitor and different connections. Notice that there is a button and that the potentiometer is connected to the headphone jack, serving as a volume control. The chip is an AVR microcontroller (ATTINY85 maybe?) from Tristan Perich's "1-Bit Symphony".
people always leave the stupidest fucking comments on music. you fucking smelled some video game shit? because its a chiptune style?? why 'scent'. fucking insane.
Wait, it's a typo? I thought it was intended because of morans, which is the wrong version of morons, a word I don't know, or the only intended "wrong word"
I really need to look into more of FearofDark's stuff. All I know them for is stellar _Jazz Jackrabbit_ remixes, but I know they've done other stuff like this, too.
