The idea of this short is clever, basically it’s telling a story through food, notice how James (Winston’s owner) eats when he’s by himself, and when he changes his meals when he was dating Kirby (the waitress), like he’s trying extra hard to impress.
The Entire plot if anybody’s interested: While licking at discarded fast food wrappers, a stray male Boston Terrier puppy spots a French fry dropped on the ground and eats it. James, the man who dropped the fry, offers a second one to the puppy and takes him home. James names him Winston and begins feeding him portions of his own meals and junk food in addition to regular kibble. One day, James begins a relationship with a waitress, named Kirby, at a local restaurant. She persuades him to take up a healthier diet and lifestyle, but the change upsets Winston as the leftovers James slips to him now consist of vegetables, which he hates. The couple break up, sending James into a deep depression and causing him to revert to his old eating habits. Initially gleeful at eating junk food again, Winston soon recognizes James's low spirits. Seeing a piece of parsley that has reminded James of Kirby and the meals they used to prepare together, Winston steals it, leading to a chase as he brings it to Kirby. James follows Winston to the restaurant, where he reconciles with Kirby, and the two marry soon afterward. Winston, relieved that his master is happy again, is initially content to eat normal dog food. Some time after the couple have moved into a new house, Winston spots a couple of meatballs that have rolled across the kitchen floor and eats them. Following the trail of sauce they have left behind, he reaches the base of a high chair occupied by the couple's infant child, who happily throws another meatball to him. As the film ends, Winston gets ready to feast on a tray of cupcakes knocked off a table during the child's first birthday party.
This is so cute because if you just watch the end you’ll see that countless times food is spilled in front of him and he has multiple opportunities to eat and do what he’s done his whole life but he realizes that his owners happiness is far above his own. Something dogs ACTUALLY believe.
One aspect I like about this short is that until he cares more about the man than food, we don't see the man's face and after that shift, we see his face in the other shots too.
mom:what is going on! LOOK AT THIS SHORT FILN all cry and yells they are dying Monster:Im gonna eat you-shy is every body crying later the whole is crying
He actually reminds me of my dog. When we brought her home, even though she felt down and was confused without her mommy, she immediately sucked in her dog food. She always ate it right away. Then, mom gave her chicken once. After that she didn't eat her food right away, even though mom literally pushed her to the bowl to eat it. (it was first time after the chicken). 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
When i first watched this i expected it to have a sad turn where the dog got sick from all the human food or something and had to be put down. Im glad it didnt turn out that way though! :D
I loved this when I first saw it when it came on before Big Hero 6 also when I first saw this I honestly thought that Winston (the dog) was gonna get sick and die from eating all that junk food but I was really happy he didn’t
I don’t think most people realize how touching the story is. The fact that he dodged all the food while on his way to get back the girl symbolizes how much he loves his human and how much he cares for his happiness rather than his own.
The dog (Winston) reminds me so much of my own boston terrier (same breed as Winston). She is the sweetest dog ever but quite a picky eater. Thankfully she likes most veggies.
This is actually a video !are to spread awareness about the wrong feeding of dogs, and how if a dog eats alot of human food the dog will get very sick. Don't feed your dogs you food kids, especially any thing with garlic, onions or any dressing, also grapes, those are all bad
Pls don't, it is really not meant for them to eat and they can actually get very sick. If it is in very small portions it's okay but try to avoid it😊 (this short film is super cute but feeding a dog that much human food is animal cruelty)
