This picture is darling! I’ve seen it around. I have a Saints and vestments costume business and so many people across the country are celebrating All Saints Day by dressing as the saints.
I hate Halloween. I think traditional Catholics have done a good service by having All Saints day parties. I also think traditional Catholics who participate in Halloween are of the world and are not strong in faith. I liked the Quick take. Thank you.
On the contrary, my parish does pass out candy on the 31 October and sees nothing wrong with trick or treating. We don't do anything else. The kids do participate in their school Halloween party, but it is an archdiocesan parochial school. So nothing scary. The costumes have to have no weapons or fake blood. Nothing violent. Instead, the kids dress up like animals, firemen, policemen, or priests or Sisters or fictional characters that have nothing to do with horror movies. I allow my kids to dress up in costumes, even costumes not related to All Saints Day. We don't have many All Saints Day costumes because there are no All Saints Day parties at church. It is treated like any other holy day of obligation. My kids will go to school tomorrow because they don't have the day off, and then we will go to to Mass in the evening. We don't have room in the schedule for an All Saints Day party and nothing is offered except maybe at their school.
