I get bored doing the same feather in my borders, so I usually changed after every 3 or 4. Looks better than the same all around. Love your variations

Brilliant idea putting the angled marks to help direct the stitching. I’ve been trying for a few years to draw feathers, but always ended up looking like that first feather you did. I think this may help a lot! Thank you so much for sharing this!

I love your videos! I can't wait to try feathers now! Thank you, thank you, thank you!! I notice that you don't use quilting gloves to help you move the fabric. Is there something on the plate of your machine to help the fabric glide?

Amazing! How are you quilting while using both hands holding material?
@kathyf3656
@kathyf3656 4 года назад
Two questions. ------One: You move your hands and your pedal speed very fast. Should a beginner try to go that fast at first, or is that just because you have so much experience? When I try it fast, my stitches come out all different lengths. -------Two: I wondered if there is another way to practice off the sewing machine. You and other instructors talk about drawing on paper to build muscle memory, but since you control the "pen" (the needle) on paper, but when sewing you are controlling the "paper," (the fabric), the actions are totally opposite. To practice with pen and paper to be of any help, you would have to have someone hold a pen like a needle, in mid-air, while you moved the paper around underneath it. Is there any other way to practice that is more like actual free-motion sewing?
