I don’t have the Fg 5000 but the regular winning headgear but will say some good blows still can cut. I’ve never been cut but I’ve felt burning sensations above and below my eyes before. If it’s a good blow anything can happen. With enough speed, power, and friction, even a little touch from leather to skin can scrape you very well if not cut. However, with a Fg5000 it’s almost nearly impossible but I’m sure it can still happen, especially when you’re dealing with someone that is really good as well. I don’t think this was done on purpose coming from Wards team to postpone the fight and get him even more ready, especially with cameras being there for the first time; but who knows. Again, I do believe with a good blow that anyone can get cut no matter the headgear. I can only assume that it was a very slick and powerful straight that might have caught him while also going all the way through his face allowing for more friction.
