Vibration dampeners do not prevent injury. A lot of people use them because they think they help prevent tennis elbow. They really only reduce the pingy sound when you hit the ball. The same energy is being transferred through the racquet to your arm whether you use them or not.
It also helps to dampened the racquet for so called dampeners some people don’t like the vibration feel from the racquet especially starters but pros also use it like Rafa
I'm very much the same. Rackets and water is really all I need, but I do still have a bag solely for convenience. It's funny, because I have a friend who would literally just show up with a drawstring bag with two rackets in it. Super minimal, but he's super good at tennis, and would easily obliterate all the other players who had much nicer/fancier equipment.
maccajoe lol you guys, I’m 16 and carry 4 racquets. I play international tournaments and travel. We have multiple racquets not only for back up but because we may like having different tensions on different racquets for different situations. We also know when our racquet tensions has loosen up and racquet is about to break so we use a fresh new strung racquet.
yeah we know but honey a good tennis racquet it's around 200 dollars ... your parents must have money to spend in all that. but hey good for you and on your career .
I'm starting to think that they might've gotten their gear for free through sponsorships or something, since they all seem to sport the same exact bag and similar rackets.
players often like to have a variety of tensions available to them, so it isn't unusual to see even high school players carry 2 to 4 of the same kind of racket but at different tensions
Natsu Dragneel I understand that, but I feel like small intricacies like that normally don't matter at this level of play. Unless you're a touring pro, having multiple rackets at a slightly different tension isn't going to make a whole lot of difference, IMHO. Most of my teammates back on my high school team carried at most 2 identical rackets, and we would still outplay other schools that had fancier gear.
