Yes! Our domes are extremely versatile and can really be used as any type of structure!

That's a great a question! Just like a rock that could break through a window, covers can be cut. Outfitting your dome with a smart security system, just like you would a standard home, is always a good idea if you find it necessary!

The Domes should be built on top of our provided Deck Plans. Those Deck Plans mirror the exact perimeter of the Dome so any rain/snow falls off to the side. However, for any decks to be built exceeding the perimeter of the Dome or Domes to be built on a pre-existing Deck, we offer a Perimeter Plan. The Perimeter Plan elevates your Dome enough for the cover to be tacked on to the side decking to shield from rain/snow. The larger deck beneath it should be slotted to allow rain/snow to fall through.

The domes shape is very strong. The tent portion of the dome would have to be extremely secured for the wind not to grab ahold of it and turn it into a sail. People use dehumidifiers to reduce condensation in humid areas, and yes, you can put in an HVAC system. Just remember you are trying to air condition a tent, so this is not ecological or economical.

People talk about it all the time, Geoship.com is working on a prototype. We have seen our frame covered in straw bales and mud, that was cool to see!

Totally fine in the rain! Direct sun over a long period of time can compromise a little. We offer a five year prorated warranty on all our fabrics. We also make the window so it's able to be zipped out if replacement is needed.

From what I have gathered you can use Thermoshield paint on the outside to reflect UV rays and many people use a mini split inside for cooling - though I wonder myself about costs as I am in Florida so same issue as in Arizona - it's bloody hot! As for water on the ground, the dome has to be built on top of a deck - so you could always elevate it as much as you need to for your environment.

Condensation can occur depending on what type of heating element you choose. With our Stove Set Up Kit offered within our Deluxe Dome Package, you will able to equip your Dome with any stove you'd like, from a pellet, wood, masonry, and even gas. The geodesic shape is incredibly strong, even stronger than a rectangular or square structure. We have heard of our domes being the last structure standing in Honduras. That said it is a tent. if the wind gets ahold of a flap or gets inside the dome it will act as a giant sail. So it depends on the severity of the wind and how secured the doors and windows are.

It's not the wind you have to worry about, it's what's being BLOWN in the wind. This is nothing but a glorified tent. A 2x4 travelling 90mph will cut through it like a hot knife to butter.

Due to the natural structure of the geodesic dome, hail will bounce/slide off to the side. In rare instances, with extremely heavy and large hail, there could be a potential of damage.

Because it's fabric yes, a knife would cut through it, just as easy if someone threw a rock through a window of a house : ) Security systems can be used.

Looking at some stats at 12am lol last night I think I saw that 25% of break ins are through breaking the window while the rest are just through kicking the front door. The good is that since the domes are so affordable I CAN actually afford a security system and motorized gate along with it!

Yes! We offer a Mini-Split air handler system; a ductless solution which has an exterior pump connecting to one or more interior units. Allowing you to easily control temperatures in whatever zones of the Dome you would like. You can check out our newest video on How to cool your dome, to get a great visual idea of these features.
