You can fight on through your darkest day. Even though you're heavy laden and can't see your way...That song...those lines ALWAYS knocked me out...😢 He WILL Open Doors. I am a living witness!
Daniel's recollection of Bishop Hawkins during their childhood, especially, was so heart-felt and touching. It's so beautiful to hear about the closeness of the Hawkins family.
I also was VERY touched by Daniel's comments not only in this TBN Interview but also at Walter's Home-Going. He was the sibling that noted that this was their 'baby brother' who was now gone to Heaven. I am certain that none of them including Walter himself ever thought HE would be the 1st of them to go. Daniel speaks SO fondly of his brother and I loved their 'pet' names 'Danny' and 'Wally.'
This family is one of the sweetest, most kindest genuine loving people that I have ever meet! The best church in the world, and loved me like I was family ❤ it’s been over 20 years since I moved away, and theirs nothing to compare too the love and support that I received from them! 😢❤ Mussing you ALL! ❤
Edwin and Walter's music had so much depth, very rich lyrics, so much of the word of God. The Hawkins are Gospel Music Royalty. Rest well 💙Walter and Edwin💙
What a blessing! And I never knew Feddie sang God Will Open Doors. We used to sing that song and I so wanted to have the beautiful voice of that lady...not envious but just to learn to do notes like her. Thank you Feddie.
He's is so on point about Feddie!!! I was just a young college student when I first purchased the cd version of the Hawkins Love Alive series and I remember being in my dorm room in the late 80s just in awe.
I love to hear the history; it is great to gain insight into their experiences& what formed their understandings of the Word of God.The extent of legalistic teachings & doctrines &the impact that had on them is interesting. It would have been helpful (in order to help avoid the same situation again) to also hear the viewpoint of those who represented "the church" from that era. The apparent legalism seems related to greed & hypocrisy in our society.Bishop sang Jesus set him-us- free from sin
The word of God speaks for itself. I agree. Yes the viewpoint of the older saints according to the word of God should have been expressed as well. One sided conversation. But the word of God is right all by itself.
@nett1eb I believe his name was Marava, an elder brother. There was also a brother named Jervis who passed at age 10 when they were kids. I recalled a dedication page to him (Jervise) on a souvenir photo book that they sold at their concerts back in the day.
I had such a GREAT experience in the Church Of God In Christ. These people sound like they just didn't want to live holy. I felt love in the Church Of God In Christ. You won't go to heaven without HOLINESS. I don't care what they say. And I enjoy their music.
Think about what you stated. you said,"you had a great experience". Everyone has their own experience and we can't knock anyone for that. Pay attention to his words. he knew he was in the world so why should we continue to tell him he's going to hell? Many people want to talk about holiness, but if you don't have love and compassion in it, who will you deliver? Christ is of love and its through love and kindness have He drawn thee. Not that other stuff that sounds like it's full of hate. I'm Apostolic and other family members are COGIC, and I tell them if we want to draw sinners unto repentance, we must walk as Christ did and he wasn't mean
@Nicole Little but it isn't your place to point it out. You model holiness through your actions. THAT distinction draws the attention of those going astray, then once your witness draws them God does the rest of the work. Not your self-righteousness.
