I pay close to $90k in taxes every year and this government can't even adequately help our most vulnerable - instead wasting $60M on a mobile app that didn't even work. Shame on this government.
@@littlelittle5 honestly a liberal/ndp voter here , but even im thinking on PP this time around if even just for vengeance and to see trud turfed out on his...well
I receive CPP-disability ever since 2018 (at the age of 35) when I suffered several brain hemorrhages from a rare brain illness (when an AVM in my occipital lobe ruptured) causing me to be unable to work. I had a decent government job in healthcare since 2005 but now I make $1100/month which is barely enough to survive. I made almost 3 times that amount when I was working. The government needs to do more to help the disabled. I'm struggling but only wish that I was able to return to work (which is unrealistic due to my serious & severe limitations)
You mean the governments ( plural) Since provincial conservative and liberal Primiers are ok with MAiD. They don't object to it, They don't complain about it. It is provincial medical facilities and provincialy paid medical personnel that conduct Maid.
This government is all about good press releases and photo ops. There is no follow-through on whether it actually works and does what they promised. The mainstream media should do the follow-up these announcements to make sure they are delivering the programs in real life. They have also been dropping the ball and believing the government for the last 9 years. It is now its high time they get to work and hold the Trudeau Government to account for all of the promised programs working...
406k a year, and he turned the chef for state dinners into a full-time employee. A total of 8k a month on chef and groceries, he charges the tax payers monthly. At 406k a year, he can afford to buy his own expensive sobeys crab legs for lunch.
rent increase and food makes it hard cheques are around 1548 some even get less it would be great to do more that’s a joke we are all struggling and the government just turns a blind eye I have been on the bc affordable housing list almost 16 years and still no affordable apartments
It doesn't help. Most can't get this. I live alberta and receive AISH/CPP disability. When they raise the cppd it get taken off our aish. They say rent should be 30% of our rent but our rental allowance is only $350 dollars. The rest of our rent comes out of our living allowance. This needs to be fixed. Yhe rental allowance is from the dark ages. Raise our rental allowance so we can afford a place to survive. ‼️‼️‼️🙏🌷
It actually around $1700 and most disabled people could work in some capacity even if it's only minimal....most people I've known on odsp could actually work more....my neighbor in a wheelchair actually makes more than me
Why is JT & CF having a interest free halal mortgage by banks designed by Muslims for Muslims. Is there 2 sets of laws here. Canada is secure & we do not need to be sharia compliant in our finance system. Sharia compliant discriminates again regular Canadian. We do not need to appease the Muslims. All Canadian are equal before the Law. No two sets of law.
While i dislike creating special exceptions for halal banking, we are Canadians with our own systems. Halal mortgages are interest free but they still pay interest like fees.
They should increase the per capita funding significantly and narrow the eligibility criteria. Then they should remove taxes from disabled people's income and remove clawbacks altogether.
Ok let me get this straight. You want to give these people enough money to live. Only give the money to the ones that need it. Not take back the money we’ve given them to live and not punish them when they try and help themselves?
They 100% should not be taxing disability from the same source its given by. So if you get CPP disability you shouldn't pay federal taxes. If you get AISH (assured income for the severely handicapped for Albertans) then you shouldn't pay provincial taxes. But a lot of these programs are not easy to get qualified for.
@@Trythis837Given how low disability support fraud is (less than 1%), most people on these programs DO need it. Many struggle to find & maintain employment if they can work, and those that can’t work deserve to live with dignity. Lifting folks out of poverty can lead to many not just being stable, but finding jobs or going back to school. That’s something we should be applauding instead of leaving people in a ditch they can’t crawl out of.
If you "print" money to look good then make "promises" you clearly have no intention of following thru on (by making eligibility as limited or difficult as possible), then "you" are the problem.
If you broaden the eligibility then they need more money. If there are not many workers how they will get that money expect immigrants. And then if they dont have the money, they need to print or borrow. The government can be made more efficient but it cannot save the government billions, it will be at most 100-200 million. Also, the conservatives are always there to cut spending which means even lesser people qualifying for entitlements. If they axe the tax and stop the flow of immigrants where on earth they will find the money to invest and spend on Canadians?.
on top of whatever the provinces program provides but like for eg odsp in ON is $1300 a month when u add this $200 to that its still only $1500. rents in ON are $1200-$1500 much more if u live some place crazy like TO were there $2500. some of the eastern provinces provide as little as $700 a month so even worst for them
@@mraaron1584Important to note that ODSP is currently *maximum* 1308. Many, many people have to make do with less. We have to confirm monthly that we haven't travelled outside the province, we can't get married, other benefits like OAS get clawed back. Canada is anti-disability.
agreed 100% these days when people say : your so lucky to be born in canada i think; maybe ited be al;ot better if i were born in Iraq and floatedover on a peice of cardboard.
nuh uh, Ukrainians aren't allowed to get their permanent residency here unless family related to some canadian farmers who immigrated to Canada back in 1920s. The one time emergency financial aid given to them is about 2500$ something if I recall correctly. You are expected to learn English well before the 2500$ runs out and get a job in a country where most job/training qualification issued abroad other than from the states are simply not recognized or exchanged to Canadian one. Welcome to Canada
100%Maplesyrup : Nelson Mandela once said: "Humanity of a nation gets measured in how they care for the vulnerable, disabled and their seniors" This says it all
Maximum rent allowance for a single disabled person is around $500, rent for a 1 bedroom is around $1,500mth. So that leaves the disabled having to rent a room in someone else's house, but it can't be a boyfriend or girlfriend because you will lose your benefits. For a lot of us, it can't have stairs, removing most options, or we can't participate in chores, we're not students, so that housing is out. When we complain that we are depressed and afraid of being homeless, they offer us MAID, when the CPP account has so much money in it, it's artificially propping up our GDP, it's criminal, that's OUR MONEY! Seniors and the disabled should be getting much higher CPP and CPPD instead of a measly new $200 slap in the face!
...........Ture, but try telling that to his millions of supporters, who voted for him in previously elections. You certainly don't have to walk far to know that one of your friends or family members could be a liberalism thinker.
Governor General Mary Simon received a $11,200 raise in 2024, her third pay bump since being appointed to the role in 2021, driving her salary for this year up to $362,800. In ON a person on ODSP is expected to live annually on approximately what our GH's pay increase was.
Exactly.........One can only know what is in a person's mind of what their thinking is.............when they go to the ballot box............the rest is history!!!!!
turd-doh is a spokes person; weather the next one is Polivere, Jagmeet or somone else; this will continue; why? were not a democracy like the USA we are a MONARCHY WITH A KING DICTATOR - a religious dictatorships autocracy; duh. untill we have our independence day; things will not only never change; they will get much worse. if we do not have our indipendanceday; one day USA will annex us; and Canada will cease to exist.
Well this disabled small business owner will be moving out of Canada within the next 2 1/2 years. I'm over taxed in every little thing we buy is taxed from healthy foods to prescriptions to life aids including oral dentistry with the Feds & BC is killing my business with provincial taxes with the new carbon tax. I'm looking ahead for myself and staff but Ireland & England are in my future plans.
For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many. (Mark 10:45) "I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me. just as the Father knows me and I know the Father--and I lay down my life for the sheep. (John10:14-15) The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life--only to take it up again. No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from my Father. (John 10:17~18) He then began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, chief priests and teachers of the law, and that he must be killed and after three days rise again. (Mark 8:31) and not only for that nation but also for the scattered children of God, to bring them together and make them one. (John 11:52) "We are going up to Jerusalem," he said, "and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and teachers of the law. They will condemn him to death and will hand him over to the Gentiles, who will mock him and spit on him, flog him and kill him. Three days later he will rise." (Mark 10:33-34) But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed. (IsaIah 53:5) Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by him, and afflicted. (Isaiah 53:4) We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all. (Isaiah 53:6) Yet it was the LORD's will to crush him and cause him to suffer, and though the LORD makes his life a guilt offering, he will see his offspring and prolong his days, and the will of the LORD will prosper in his hand. After the suffering of his soul, he will see the light of life and be satisfied ; by his knowledge my righteous servant will justify many, and he will bear their iniquities. (Isaiah 53:10-11) Therefore I will give him a portion among the great, and he will divide the spoils with the strong, because he poured out his life unto death, and was numbered with the transgressors. For he bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors. (Isaiah 53:12) Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. (Philippians 2:6-7) And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death-- even death on a cross! (Philippians 2:8) Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (Philippians 2:9-11)
do your saying somone like the guy in this video should work when he cannot even work. where in your brain does this make sense? as he is one of the most vulnerable people and his parents have to take care of him as no one can hire him as he is unable to do the tasks to work. and there are many canadians in that situation shame on you and your looking down on people mr scrooge.
They do. Millions to companies to *try to hire disabled, plus adverts. But the jobs aren't tailored to ability or lessened hours so almost no disabled people CAN even do the jobs. It's here's a job designed for abled people, no accommodations, and meritocratic (so resume gaps = less merit ++ other innate barriers) so we never get the jobs, they still get incentives. We need audits and transparency and you need to educate yourself on what is actually happening and being done. Everything is being done without considering our reality. Also vast numbers of us cannot work and also be functional enough to stay alive and at optimal health (within our hard limitations).
people on dissability should not be able to have jobs... leting them get a job is disgusting; they are dissabled; give em what they need to live; at least before you feed cloth and house people not even born here...
