Watch all the lows and highs from a historic night in Canadian politics as Justin Trudeau and the Liberal party road a wave of support across the country to a majority government. For more info, please go to www.globalnews.ca
If he was in America, they would've said in a big triumphant voice like "Justin Trudeau, 43 years old, is projected to become the prime minister designate of Canada"
+Mah Shu Sun Tide Weed is essentially legal in Canada anyways, very few cops are going to arrest you for a joint, they'll only arrest you if you are clearly trafficking in large quantities.
Trudeau called Canada the greatest country on earth. As a British citizen I look to him, then to David Cameron and realise I can't propose much of a counter argument. Keeping a plane ticket to Canada safe in case Corbyn loses the election in 2020
Try to do what Canadians ask of you. Keep the American at full arm's length. 83% of all corporations in Canada are 100% owned and controlled by foreigners. Cast a discerning eye on issues like this, and you will earn our respect. Good luck Mr."T".
I was curious. What do people think about majority and minority governments? I've always thought that I like minorities better because that way the PM can't just do whatever he wants. Not too educated on politics though and was wondering if this was an ignorant way of thinking.
Some say the best work a government puts out is when its in a minority government. But I do like the idea of a majority government, where if things need to get done, they can get done without much chaffing. I'd rather have a take charge leader than constant deadlocking in minorities, elections left and right, proportional representation would do just that.
@@ef888 rip, rumors of a 2021 election are coming up though. Considering he got a Minority government in 2019 if the other parties come to an agreement and team up an election could be happening in the near future. Even Justin Trudeau acknowledged this and spoke about it
Bill Is cool Oh I don’t doubt an early election. If not 2021 then 2022, but I can’t see the government serving its full term. I just can’t see Bernier winning any seats.
Why would you do that? No conservative can agree with one action or one proposal Trudeau took, pumping out welfare funding, rolling back crime control measures, abandoning Israel, throwing families under the bus. A lot of liberals disagree with him enough to change their vote.
Really surprised that Mulcair got less votes than I expected, but I'm glad Trudeau won. I'm looking forward to seeing the changes. Yesterday was the first time I voted, and it really does make a difference.
+Ken Rose Marijuana can't really be compared to other drugs, they aren't nearly as damaging as others otherwise there wouldn't be a debate on the issue.
+ying liu Trudeau is nothing more than a celebrity type politician. Younger voters are in awe of him and I would say many voted for him because of his promise to legalize pot. On many other serious issues, Justin is very naive.
+jey zap : Bleed "the rich" dry, and you will not begin to cover the massive, idiotic spending the Liberals are about to commence. Candice Malcolm column, "Trudeau's Numbers Don't Add Up," Toronto Sun, Oct. 8th, 2015: "The [Liberal] party's brass outlined its plan to add a jaw-dropping $146.5 billion in new govt. spending over the next four years, financed through debt, increased taxes and targeted cuts. ... They will bring in 25,000 Syrian refugees in the next three months... The Liberals say they will spend $100 million on the program." They also plan to give more to the CBC than the 1-billion-plus it already receives per year (it's such a good leftist propaganda machine). Think you're exempt from higher taxes inflicted by Liberals? Pfffft! Harper lowered taxes. That's about to be undone.
+tamething1 You conservatives really need drop your delusions about your party's fiscal responsibility... The Liberals may plan to add over a $1 billion dollars over the next four years, but Harper inhereted a surplus of $13.8 billion when he took office and within two years had created a deficit of $5.8 billion... in two years he spent $19.6 billion, deleting a surplus and putting Canada back into deficit. During his time in office he increased our debt by $150 billion.
I Club Seals & Barbara Lilley We live in the best country Canada!!! 💝 let's hope & see that Justin Trudeau makes big changes here. I just want the best for every one of us & see things change for the better ☺
Rihana Ali Hashim We will see absolutely nothing change for the better. Nothing ever gets better when a new government is elected. The best you can hope for is that it just doesn't get worse.
