So when 6PM rolled around, I got a little surprise. The rotator was not working, and the horn was faced right at me. I later called the EMA who were already aware of the issue and got Federal Field to service it. Luckily, this malfunction allowed me to get a little carried away with the camera angles. I even got the drone out for the first time but due to a slow memory card, it only recorded a tiny snippet rather than the full test. But don't worry, this certainly isn't the last time the drone will be used. There were also some developing storms in the background that looked impressive from above. Thankfully, the wide angle caught some of this convective action even though the drone didn't.
Since I was standing directly in front of the horn, I also got a little more than I bargained for. My ears were definitely ringing from that shrill ,130 dB scream. So don't underestimate the sound of a 2001. Sure, they may not be the most interesting, but they pack a punch.
Enjoy, and as always comment, like, and subscribe for more. Thanks!
