Yeah, it’s a 2001. But I pass this one all the time so it definitely deserves a recording. You can find it off US 231 behind Loogootee’s municipal building. Their other siren is a T-121 on the other side of town and runs ‘attack’. You can actually hear it pretty well even in this recording. From my understanding, these are normally sounded by Loogootee’s dispatch center but it’s not staffed 24/7. During their offline hours, Martin County Sheriff’s Dispatch takes over.
Martin County’s sirens are controlled independently. Loogootee tests every first day of the month usually at 12 Noon, Shoals tests first Mondays, and NAVSEA tests its system as needed.
