For Minnesota's test in April, Sam, Asa, and I went to what might be the last unrecorded "old" siren in Hennepin County - the Model 2T on Dayton's northern fire station. This also just so happens to be the farthest north siren in all of Hennepin County. They were lit off at 1 PM on the nose and ran the usual signal. This siren is VERY healthy, a far cry from the other 2Ts that have been recorded in this city and quite a nice surprise for us. The siren wasn't very loud, but the vantage point we were able to get was pretty neat. You can also hear Elk River's sirens across the river in Sherburne County running the three minute alert both in between the two signals and after the test concludes. Thanks for watching, and enjoy!
Hennepin County tests their sirens system on the first Wednesday of every month at 1 PM.
