See I was thinking the opposite -- how he deliberately tries to encounter every obstacle I find annoying. For example, watch how he deliberately jumps lined up against things, or does something unnecessarily -- he is trying to trigger trolls to make videos longer and provide more reactions. I guess this is the difference between watching the video as an adult vs a child -- adults probably shouldn't be watching him.

I like how carl technically dodged the first troll by not going in the blue pipe, which is a twice-twice of the actual way to go, and never noticed. He was to busy trying to dodge all the physical trolls to fall for the mind games

@@1337-Nathaniel That's because the blue pipe went to a different area (the twice twice) which you can see at 2:38. I don't think carl ever died at that area so we don't get to see whether there were death markers there.

2:37 Carl actually dodged a bit of a troll here. If he trusted Federico and went in the blue pipe as the arrow indicated he would have seen that the yellow pipe doesn't kill you, however since the blue pipe leads to a different room you don't realize that the yellow pipe kills you and the red pipe is correct. At least, not until taking one more humiliating death.

I initially noticed that there were no death markers under the blue pipe and thought "wow apparently no one is following the arrow" but of course the actual reason was that it is a different pipe. Also you can use the death markers to find the hidden block on the first screen.

11:00 Carl successfully dodged 2 consecutive trolls. First, he hit the block and got the mushroom without knowing what was in the block or that he would need a power-up, and then, the very next troll was the slide into a P switch activating, and for whatever reason the P switch didn't activate causing Carl to skip the troll completely on his first try. Bam! That was 2 in a row dodged without knowing beforehand what was going to happen.

19:45 I've done that. I made a pit that damages you with a burner, which has a set of three pipes constantly shitting out shrooms, shellmets, and stars that go on a magical journey and then are blasted into your face/onto your head right before you die. It goes star-> shroom -> shellmet -> repeat. It's technically possible to die, but you have to do like a frame-perfect duckjump to get a shellmet to the face right as the damageboost invuln from the shroom wears off.

Omg somehow I missed this old video. I'm so happy it showed up in my feed after 2 years. I could watch Carl playing troll levels from any game every day. He might not be the fastest at beating the level, but he is persistent for sure. Most people just downvote and skip trolls/puzzles and miss the experience. Also most of us are nowhere near Carl's capabilities. Brain hamsters might be dormant, but at least in his case they do exist.

He did missed one troll at the beginning- if he went straight to the blue pipe, it would be shown that yellow pipe is safe, which is wrong, but he went to the yellow pipe and skipped that troll.

To be fair, the first few minutes of this level was less like trolling and more like mini knowledge checkpoints with rapid dead ends. Carl didn’t get a chance to believe where he should get to next in a room before getting killed. Then trolling him by making him think of a strategy and it failing spectacularly because carlblind works.

If you enter the blue pipe at the start it tricks you into thinking that the yellow pipe is correct, if you enter the yellow pipe it makes you think that the red pipe is the way, but if you went through the blue pipe first there is a good chance that you will assume that it is another fake, making you enter the green pipe, which is also wrong. So the only way to fall for all the trolls in the beginning is to have tried every pipe before getting the power up. Meaning you technically dodged two trolls!
