Aloha, I work for The UPS Store.... now you see why we pack things the way we do......strong boxes, lots of bubble wrap and peanuts... we want your package to arrive in one piece.
Maybe you can answers this. I used to live in a tiny town in Kansas. Far far away from any major airport. How the hell did UPS deliver overnight? It's amazing.
I know you said FedEx Ground but I just want to state that FedEx Express gives pensions and real benefits to its employees. Even though FedEx Ground and Express both have FedEx in their names they are pretty much two completely different companies.
@@jeffreycairns767not anymore. They’re (FedEx) are trying to merge them. Ground delivers express packages as of 2020, and vice versa. And apparently ground is going to start doing pickups for express now to.
Im watching this because i can’t believe how fast my package will be delivered. From Argentina to the us, going through brazil, Colombia and many us states in only a few days. Blows my mind
Love this stuff. I used to write for logistics trade magazines and went on a press trip to Louisville for UPS. They even took us out on the ramp at midnight and let us sit in the cockpit of a cargo 747. It probably seems boring to many people, but in reality it's a very exciting market.
That said, those two employees who are shown doing things that go against FedEx/UPS "corporate values" and then being fired had probably been driven to the point of cerebral haemorrhage by the minute micromanagement of every second, every motion they make in their trucks, not to mention the intense deadline pressure every day.
+Mr. Hiram It's because of your greed. The west demand too much, meaning there will BE mistakes, it's impossible to do ALL this and not have mistakes once in a while. People a 1000 miles away want their parcel is less than 12 hours and want to pay affordable prices at the same time.
Mr. Hiram And like i said, because of the greed of the west. We are the ones who asked for this. Do you know how easy it is to lose a parcel? Look at all those sorting machines and planes they use, all it takes is for one parcel to just drop, or have a label fall off. And boom ,you'll never see that parcel again. The fact is because of they way consumers demanding from companies, these companies are doing crazy things to satisfy those demands. That means, there WILL be mistakes. You CANNOT be loading millions of parcels from trucks to planes, to several warehouses everyday and not have one or two parcels lost in a while.
Mr. Hiram they get scanned multiple times and if there isn't a updated scanner tag then the machine will push it aside and a worker will manually tag it
All UPS/Fed-ex employees please help support me in my fasting and peaceful protesting against UPS Management in Cerritos Ca for dishonesty and racism I was terminated after 27 years of faithful service on Facebook@ Ruben Clemente Delgadillo jr Thank you!
Imagine a Full System or Power failure and no Backup Generators. Everything just stops and all the lights go out all you can say is.............WELL DAM! Whelp guess its time to call it a night, and we can sort this whole thing out tomorrow! LoL!
FedEx lost my packages twice in the last 6 months. And I have used them only twice. I have used UPS more than 20 times in the last 3 months and I have never had an experience of lost package with them.
Of course UPS is gonna show the good side to them. I used to work for them seasonally in Oak Creek, WI. this is the most dysfunctional business I've EVER worked for. Not to mention the sexual assault rumors
Fedex sucks. Don't put the time when you cant do it. UPS on the other hand is close to what they say about their time so say UPS is way better then Fedexucks
The shipping business will remain strong until we find out how to 3d print everything from home! You want a new tv let me 3d print that. You want some McNuggets let me 3d print those too!!
MA GA My packages always travels on the weekend and never get stuck anywhere because it’s the weekend. So I think my transit might be just USPS only. I’ve tried UPS and FedEx on the same shipments and they stop on the weekends and take even longer to get to me. It’s always the same route from the same company in Carolina to my house in AZ. I just get them faster if I use USPS and also they announced that they do shipping 24/7 even on weekends to compete with UPS/FedEx
@@maga6252 "depends" on them? Well, sure... they contract out some movements, but they also have their own methods, too. It's not as if there's some secret conspiracy where USPS pretends to ship things but it's really all someone else. USPS moves things through contract air and commercial airline cargo contracts.
Bar codes and IATA codes for airports, the chuckers at FedEx sort according to the 4 letter air port codes, there's always a prefix that's why it's 4. When I worked in the secondary at FedEx the minimum rate was 23 boxes a minute. At that rate you gotta throw to keep up
Well USPS destroyed my Corning Ware dishes twice, frankly I don't see how anything fragile is able to be shipped with them. The way I package this stuff the box must have been used as a football for it to be shattered on the receiver's end.
After 4 very disturbing experiences, I cancel every purchase that is going to be delivered by Fedex. The problem with them is not only the staff are liars... i.e. they say we did not find you home when you have been waiting for delivery all day,but also that the delivery office staff are rude and aggressive. In one incident I had to go back home twice to bring in evidence that I am who I am. I would not recommend Fedex to my enemy. It is repulsive.
Sreeja Ghosh everyone needs to have an account set up with their shippers. The communication barrier gets eliminated. You can literally have your package 📦 tossed on your roof at your request. As for signature required packages, again you can modify all your deliveries through tracking with an account. Also get familiar with your drivers. I give my number out to my customers to create a better business relationship with them personally. But then again that’s up to you the customer. Don’t be a dick and have your dog on a leash or fenced in please and thank you. #goups
This is why I never go to shitty malls anymore. For one, I can find anything online and it's not subject to limited inventory due to local buying trends. Secondly, who wants to deal with people at a shitty mall?
Yeah but look what the workers have to go through to make sure your packages are delivered fuck the driver's I'm talking about the people that does all the hard work in the warehouse. Mind you they have to wait a whole year before he are she receives any employment benefits which is completely wrong and its a lot of wear and tear on your body.
9:50 This is fascinating. I am sure that makng more right turns is easier when drive on the right. Remember though some places drive on the left, so left turn is best for delivery in the UK for example, since right turns take longer and slightly more hazardous.
Any smart UPSer would want the union on their side. If you are not a part of the union, then you don't have the union there to fight for you. so if you don't do something exactly how the company wants it to be done, they will fire you and not think twice. union protects you and your job against the company. so really the employee has no choice. they can choose between job or no job. as for fedex, i think they are trying to get unionized, not entirely sure though.
At UPS many boxes break open and items come out, called “fallouts”. Usually this is caught and processed to get your order fixed. Sometimes though, especially if you have multiple items, the workers don’t know what was supposed to be in the box and might accidentally send it on with missing contents. Or might not realize that the box is empty if it isn’t open all the way. In my experience there’s very little stealing that happens. We’re on camera, you’re instantly fired if you steal, and we go through security so you can’t take anything out of the building.
@@macwhite7257 well it more than likely happened at a ups store and the item is small enough to palm and it is very pricey I have no reason to just make stuff up
@@MrJerry149 not trying to say you’re making anything up. If the box was in good condition it very well could have been taken. Just saying in general the boxes take quite a beating on the conveyors and in the trailer loads. Small contents fall out of boxes/envelopes left and right. They’re littered across the buildings/trailers, usually collected and sent to overgoods. Many people handle every box and if one broke open or is empty we process it to fix your order. Now if your box was taped up and purposely shipped empty, it’s truly a different story
Both companies good, UPS does more Ground, FedEx does more air express. Both are getting into each others core business. Key difference is the work force, Brown is unionized, FedEx's drivers aren't (their pilots are though).
I don't think you can really complain about ur package being placed on your door step (depending on what kind of neighborhood you love in) b/c some people prefer having their package placed on their door step since most people don't want to go through the hassle oF going to FedEx to pick up the package.
