FedEx DC-10/MD-10 Landing - Big Flare 

My Dad worked at Douglas when the DC-10 was designed and I only flew on one once in '75 (JFK to LAX) but nothing was cooler for me than to watch the FedEx planes fly past my front door landing at RNO just a mile away....well almost as cool as AF1.

actually....there is no flare at all ;-) This was a perfect, continuous decent until touch down. A flare would have meant that the vertical movement of the airplane would have been brought to zero about 6ft over the runway and from that the touch down was initiated. What you probably mean ist the nose-up pitch of the aircraft which is always high on the DC-10 (sorry for me it stays to be the DC-10) under normal/calm conditions. Didn't mean to annoy you, just wanted to let you know. Love this Vid !!!

I see them land at PHX everyday, their trucks are in & out of where I live everyday (1/4 mile from 2 large distribution centers) on Hayden. We used to paint their planes at Dynair (PHX) when I worked there including one of their 1st MD-11's. It's really strange walking into a plane with no seats, just roller panels.☺✌

The MD11 is an amazing airplane! I get to see them land daily at the airport I work at. I work for UPS.
