My mom offered to do my hair once when I started middle school. She made me look like Amadeus and I didn't have time to change it before class started. That was the only time I ever let her touch my hair. Your little girls are so lucky!
Can you just come over and do my daughter's hair?!? LoL jkjk..... But I'm a hands on learner 😊❤ and I have a real question.. My 5 yr old has very thick straight hair that's to the bottoms of her shoulder blades and she's s also very tender headed.. any pointers or tips on this type?? The bottom part of her hair is the hardest part to braid for me and I usually end up having to let go.
It's called a "Topsy Tail", easy & inexpensive to find on amazon/ebay/ali express 🙂 You could probably use a latch hook as well, if you're already familiar with that tool. In a pinch, I've used a regular crochet hook, though that's a bit fiddly. If you had some jewelry-making wire on hand, you could use a bit of that: bend in a U shape, put the bent end through the braid a bit, feed the coloured hair into the wire & then pull it back out, dragging half the coloured hair with you, just like you see with the Topsy Tail. 🙂
So you are doing a *dutch* braid with the natural hair, pulling strands under, and then with the artificial hair, you are doing a *french* braid, pulling the strands over. Did I see that correctly?
