Hard Luck Jon, I think you fished it well considering you didn't feel well. Thank you for the superb videos you given us all year, it's always a pleasure to sit back with a cuppa and watch you fish
Thanks for all the great content throughout the year Jon. Hope you're back to 100% very soon and that 2022 brings all you hope for yourself and those you hold dear.

Hi Jon have you qualified, as I said I am booked for the 5th march golden rod feeder Larford and have just received news from my surgeon that my operation will be done in the next 4 weeks so goods news for me as I will be fit enough for the match Have been watching videos on Lardford and very excited going to put my heart and sole in. I am not new to feeder fishing and fished in many matches in the south of England 30 years ago and before spine problem practiced hard so now I am on a mission if i do manage to get through I will give you all credit as watching you and the way you fish has in stilled me may be will meet up some day you are a credit to angling Thank you
Very best of luck with the operation and recovery and maybe see you at Larford if I'm on that one. All the very best on your return. Never give up at Larford as that last hour can be decisive!
Well done John 👏 I know you didn't qualify but I've got to say you make fishing look so easy doesn't matter what method you use.You explain everything very clear and I've never met u but you seem just a nice bloke ,good luck in all your big qualifiers next Yr and hope you feel a bit better soon 👍 cheers.
Well done JON, thanks very much for what you have done for angling if it wasn't for you some people like myself would never ever see the Venus match fishing or pleasure tight lines Happy New year too Your self & your family.
great match Jon its always a better match when weights are below 100lb everyone still feels they are in with a chance, Merry Christmas to you and family🐟🐟🐟
Great video again Jon, you cannot win em all. Next time in the cold try some hot chocolate in your flask, keeps you warm through the day. Last of all, c, mon guys give this great angler some more likes and subscribe he’s helping us with all his great tips and advice.
Love a hot chocolate so maybe that’s the tipple soon. The tomato soup might get an outing or two this winter as well! Thanks for all your support as well. I get a lot of people watching RU-vid via their TVs now which I don’t think has a Like facility, but I think I get a very good percentage compared to other channels and all my vids have a 98%+ approval rating which I’m more than happy with. So I must be doing something half right. I think the main thing that separates me from a few others is that I actually enjoy doing it! Once again thanks for being such a loyal fan and see you in 2022! 🎉
Hi Jon, started watching your videos about a week ago, absolutely hooked on them, my wife thinks were having an affair because i cant stop watching them lol. I always loved watching Bob Nudd but your videos are brilliant. Carry on the good work, think youve done wonders to bring all kinds of fishing back to life again. And a thoroughly nice bloke with it.
Great match Jon,. Just not your day bud Enjoy the rest of the Christmas period have a Happy prosperous healthy New Year, take care, stay safe, regards to the ladies and keep it lit 👍 my friend
Great video Jon. May I ask; while many anglers say do not reel in while the clutch slips (while reeling in) you do this (to great effect) constantly. Back to my question, do you have any problems with you line by doing this. Once again great video.
I've always used clutch and backwind and tend to set it soft and tighten up during the fight. Line spin can certainly be an issue at times, so just be careful. I've always felt I've got a good 'feel' of a fish when it lunges etc, while some people just pull and wind constantly. I probably should tighten my clutch more, but it's an old habit and seems to work ok for me.
Hi Jon great video as ever. Quick question I noticed on your side tray you had more than tub of pellets. Did these pellets just have different flavours added or were they just past being used and the other tubs were freshly made pellets??
I had two lots of micros. One was wetted the night before which makes them softer and spongey and one done in the morning that tend to be stickier. Depends what I want them to do in the feeder.
I only tend to clip up beyond 25m if big carp are the target. Shorter than that and the bites are too savage. At 25m+ you get a lot of stretch in the line and bend in the rod to give you time to unclip if necessary. But I also had my distance sticks set up to get back to the correct range afterwards.
Stop trying to kid your viewers Jon 😨! ... you looked rough after the day before on Xmas drink buddy, and I saw bites on the video that you should have struck into, but missed 😨😨 !! .... I remember the good old days in the 1970's & 80's when the match draw was always at a pub, & the landlord always opened the bar at 6am in the morning! .... Those on drink never made the pay-out! ... Nor did you 😨? ... 😂. Only man banter jokin & much love to you & family at Xmas 😉 ❤
