Taxing unrealized "asset appreciation" will cause serious cash flow problems for people. The result will be forcing people to sell assets, which will move more assets away from the little guy and into the hands of the big guys. Don't EVER trust that those in power are trying to help the little guy, they're trying to help their cronies. JMO

ohio has turned really dry, both of our farm yards are dead brown. i've never had it this brown before. weaned some more calves and moved them to a pasture , i couldnt keep grazed down. now they are burning through it. corns turning brown , ears dropping. i've heard of 1 local field of early beans thats had leaf drop already. he must of planted a month before everyone else. i'm just glad i found alternative marketing , to ride through this. i had a cousin in the dorm at kent state. he said the nat guard didnt shoot nearly enough of them, they were going to burn us alive.
If COF placements come in under estimates. It’s not because we decided to start to keep heifers back. That’s not happening yet. Everybody is hoping it’s starting to happen. But it’s not. Interest Rates are too high. Guys are unloading paying their operating loans off and hoping for a rate cut this fall. Then we will see.
