On the fourth and final day of our France Random Adventures trip I had an early morning carp session, targeted the Bream on different baits and got to see some of the huge Catfish that live in the river Lot in South West France!

Awesome fishing. I am a regular feeder fisherman , but every now and them o go to a 2 days carp fishing. Now that's what a call relaxing fishing. No stress , no casting every 4 5 minutes , no sitting up right :-)))) , didn't forgot where the fishing started from. Cheers mate!

Brings back memories. The carp, for some reason, are so difficult to catch during the day. In fact every carp we used to catch were at night. You could get the odd cat during the day but no carp. As a result, like you, we fished for other species during the day. The black bass were great fun with the best lure being a frog fished top water (surface). Did you catch any of pumpkin seeds (sunfish) Jamie? We had loads but they were under our feet in the margins. My mates son even had a double figure zander! Awesome river as you just never knew what you would catch next.

Thoroughly enjoyed this mini-series Jamie. My parents live in the Lot Valley, north of Cahors and I tend to fish the Dordogne river rather than the Lot. I must try the Lot though as they say there are some very big barbel in the higher reaches. Fantastic editing and great camera work. Well done mate. How did you do in the Div 1 National? Mike

I really enjoyed these Random Adventures videos. I'm organising a river Lot fishing trip for mid-May next year for a group of friends. We'll be renting a house right on the river bank and fishing from the backyard similar to you. Could you please help me with some info: Is fishing allowed in May? Is there a closed season on the rivers in France and apart from a fishing licence do we need any other permits to fish the Lot?
