Feeding Time With Baby Ember Hasn't Gone As Planned 

I think it's wonderful to share the difficulties in breastfeeding because it's not easy. So hard to see you baby struggling and hard for new parents figuring it all out. I love Audrey's honesty!

‘Robbed of the joy of those sweet newborn moments’. Lol. Girl those moments are for the grandparents. Newborn moments are always trying, exhausting, difficult etc. for moms. Ya busy, ya exhausted, ya recovering.

She's absolutely beautiful... sending prayers that her appetite will increase very soon.

Praying the Ember gets past this and starts feeding well. Don't feel bad. My daughters both had difficulty with breast feeding and ended up going to the bottle. The kids are fine and they love them just as much.

Guys, Ember is almost a year now and She's chunky and thriving ☺

I’m not a mom but I wonder why when the weight is dropping why not just pump and bottle feed? Or supplement with formula? Why risk it?

My son had a tongue tie, after fixing it he still had difficulty latching. I literally cried because I felt like I failed as a mother by not being able to nurse him. I now exclusively pump and he’s doing great! Pumping is annoying but I’m pushing through for my little guy. Point being, don’t feel guilty if you can’t nurse your baby! Doesn’t matter if it’s formula or breast milk... fed is best!

My son also had that exact same problem when he was born... i tried breastfeeding him but unfortunately could not.. i had to switch him to being bottle fed. He is now 20 yrs old and very healthy and strong. I hope things get better for you.. and baby Ember is so adorable! 😍

Going under the scarf with her lol. I know some mommas are modest but that just seems like its be even harder. Glad she made it through!

Both my kids struggled to latch on so I resorted to using shields which many people are against. I could've cared less what people thought. Used the shields for a few weeks with each child and never skipped a beat enjoying my babies.

There's also breastfeeding speacilist or pumping. Even if not directly feed from you you can still do modified skin to skin Contact they can drink your milks or other need from a bottle. You still will love your child just as much.

Its a tricky business nursing. Between problems on mommas side. Or problems with latch. It is so frustrating. I hope she gets thru it pretty soon !

There is tension between this couple. The guy seems removed emotionally. I don’t know them at all. It is so cool that she is honest about how hard breast feeding can be.

I went through that stage. I didn’t sleep and it was overwhelming for a first time mom. Drink plenty of liquid, soup helped a lot and hopefully your baby will gain the weight.

Poor baby is fighting that nursing cover!! I hated those things. Stressed me out so much and things went easier when I got rid of the cover. Two shirt method is our jam. 😀

My daughter had a lot of issues, she had a lip tie but I chose to let hers stretch out on its own, and my supply started to dry up after two months, and I was force feeding myself to try to increase my supply, and I was pumping and hand expressing, sometimes especially with your first baby it just doesn't work out because it's new to your body. I breast fed for four months, then did breast milk and formula for two months till I dried up completely. My daughter is healthy as a horse, I also started cereal at 4 months at the doctors suggestion because my daughter had a large appetite, so she'd get a bowl of milked down baby cereal in the morning and one at night and I gradually thickened it up over the next couple months.

My son was like that. I ended up feeding him at nights three times. Up until he was 2 years old I woke up 2-3 times it night to breastfeed him. Now he is almost three no longer feeds at night eats solid food during day and sleeps at night through the night. It was not easy

When our oldest was 1st born he had trouble latching on and within a few weeks he had lost a lot of weight. He had to be admitted to the hospital,they ran all these test it was a terrible time moreso for me, it messed me up to see my baby in the hospital. Thankfully nothing was wrong with him but the dr. encouraged me to use a pump. That way he got the milk and it saved my sanity.

If you feed with a cover then of course the latch will be off, be more comfortable with your baby and body and feed her skin to skin without anything covering her face. The cover made a huge difference with my son, he absolutely hated it and would constantly unlatch if it was on him. Now this new baby I’m feeding without a cover and it makes the biggest difference in the world! Lip and tongue ties make a huge difficulty for breastfeeding for sure. Best of luck.💕

just get the baby girl some baby milk do both breast feed and bottles help them to latch on ....new mothers are soo crazy about being perfect you have to do what works for them not you

That’s common. More babies then you think have lip or tongue tie. Just read an article on this. Lactation specialists really help. Sometimes they have free classes places. At the hospital or something.

I was given formula because I was adopted. I was fine. No issues.

yes! People think it is an auotmatic thing nursing but it takes work. I had problems my milk wouldn't come in even used a breast pump. I ended up using bottles and formula. Do whatever works for you.

Try not to be mad at her? Bottle feed the baby for awhile

I will say my lactation specialist made me feel like shit and guilted me and Made it hard on me, but my daughters pediatrician was a wonderful support system and gave me like $200 dollars worth of the formula my daughter ended up liking.

Pump and enjoy feeding the wonderful gift from the universal god, enjoy the experience. 🌻

I pumped when my kid wasn't latching, and when I didn't pump enough, I used formula, better full than hungry.

We woman are thought breastfeeding is so natural but the reality is not every thing natural means smooth or comfortable. Like going to the toilet is natural but we get constipation and diherrah sometimes. Not pleasant but its natural. I think its best as woman we set our mind for those who are about to be mothers that we set our mind that breastfeeding might not work for the baby so we might have to use formula.prepare our mind for a different alternative ahead of time. So much woman are depressing themselves because they didn't teach us that things can happen in your body you can't control.

When you have the next baby you need to just go into your bedroom and nurse your baby and stay away from the cameras they don’t need to be watching people understand I had six children I nursed all of them and I would just go in my bedroom cuddle up with the baby and nursing just me and my husband and that’s what you need to do when you have your next one will go just fine I know it’s been a year now hope everything is going great for you guys

Why would you get mad at a baby for taking 15 minutes to latch on? Women these days are so selfish and ridiculous. There is nothing else you need to do in the world more important than just taking time and being with your newborn child.
