I love patchwork for small things such a cushion covers, sewing machine cover, tote bags... I always order a lot of 4inch and 5inch squares. It is such fun.
I enjoy watching your videos! You are very talented and have a beautiful family. I hope you are enjoying your time living in the U.S. and have made some friends here. I’d love to visit Japan one day. 🥰
I love shopping for fabric, even though I already have a LOT of it. there's a fabric thrift store called Remainders, in Pasadena, CA. I've love to try them, but they don't sell online and I live too far away. All the fabric they have is donated, and I hear they have really good prices. I'm not sure where you are, but maybe you'll be lucky enough to make the trip there someday.
I've just started getting into a bit of quilting, more for hanging designs on walls. But the fabric terms drive me **crazy**. The round roll of strips are called "Jelly Rolls" (no idea why) and most common cut yardage is "Fat Quarters", which is fabric cut in a slightly different way than you'd cut fabric for clothes making. There are also "Charm Packs", which are 5" squares of fabric for patchwork. There are also patterns that use "Layer Cakes", which are 10" size squares of fabrics. Then you get a pattern you like and you have to use yardage instead!! 🤣🤣. You develop quite a stash without meaning to.
I'm really understand what you want to say* I always use scraps after I sewed clothes, but If I don't have scraps , I think I buy fabric for patchwork.... so I will have a lot of fabric in stock. It bother me!Lol Thank you for your message*
