Yes Hadar, I am consuming more time to watch videos and listening to audio books. But I am not putting my knowledge into my actual speaking. I need an english speaking partner, who encourages and corrects my mistakes. If anyone is interested, please give reply. We'll learn and practice english together 😍

Thank you, Hadar! Yes, this is a cool topic, everyone who seriously learns languages encounters a plateau, gets stuck at the same level and loses the motivation to move on. But guys, don't stop, keep up the good work, because you are on the right way. The plateau will pass and you will collide with another plateau, and so on. It shows of your growth, you grow and become better and better. Do not give up and you are gonna achieve everything you want. Take a step and the road will appear. See you. Good luck.

necesitaba tanto este video. Gracias!!!!

Thank you Hadar for yet another great video with good content! Sadly though the English classes I had back when I was in school taught us lots of things we didn’t really need…even if we did need them we lacked the opportunities to practice them in class or weren’t taught where to find opportunities to use them outside of the classroom. But now I’m very grateful that opportunities to implement what I’ve learned are everywhere, such as writing in comment sections on RU-vid. You’ve always been a dedicated teacher who’s put in so much effort in helping us improve not just our English but also other aspects in life!

I really want to learn pronunciation for 100 common words in English that are often used, it will be very helpful for beginners if you make it in sections (part 1, 2, 3 and so on). Who knows there are still many of us who are just learning English and need lessons like this. Greetings from Indonesia 🇲🇨

Hadar, wow. I don't know where to begin. As a teacher, writer, and perpetual learner, I thank you for driving home that language learning is about so much more than discrete facts and that language teaching needs to be individualized, taking into account the "three questions" that you present in this video. Thank you, Hadar, from the bottom of my heart.

It is applyable to any type of language learning, anything that requires drilling to be mastered (like learning to play an instrument for instance). I'm finally able to understand what people are saying but I still don't know how to respond and the topic changes so fast so I can't keep up with their conversation. I always look up stuff that I want to talk about and try to use new vocabularies but my friend always laugh at me and tell me like "we don't say that" so I don't know what to do, she always says I sound like a textbook but I always learn new vocabularies from my favorite actress.

I think that a very effective and a very difficalty method in one time it is a translate sentenses from your mind or from any sources, for example books, from your native language to target language. It is that you do when you tray speak on target languaage. And also i consider that listening some video it is not bad excercising.

Thank you so much, Hadar! Your video reminds me of some memories in the past. When I was a student, I have been abroad for short study programs several times. Every time it finished, my teacher in school were surprised how I improved my English skills (of course it’s step by step or little by little). I’ve wondered why it happened to me bc I always stayed there for a few weeks, but now I realized it was just because I tried using English in all the activities such as conversations and class learning during studying abroad in the short term. And I also found what I did was actually practices as you told us 😂 Thank you so much. I would be able to find a way to move myself forward 😊 P.S. I wish I could go abroad for practicing to learn English again 😔

Hello, Hadar 😊 I have a phonics-related question. And I will try to explain what I mean here :D When letters like ‘p’ or ‘t’ come in a word before a vowel, do I need to release the air as I do when I say those letters (letter sounds) separately? Here’s an example: 1. The word ‘pie’: do I pronounce it like P(h) + IE or P(no air is released) + IE 2. Same for the word ‘tie’ Hope I was clear enough for you to understand. Thank you in advance ;)
@hadar.shemesh
@hadar.shemesh 3 года назад
These are aspirated sounds - the P K and T when they appear before a vowel at the beginning of a word or at the beginning of a stressed syllable they are released with a short puff (sounds like a mini H) So, yes! You got that right:)

@hadar.shemesh 3 года назад
And to be clear, the answer it 1;)

And do those sounds remain aspirated when come after an s sound? As in these words: spy, sty, sky ?

No, aspirated sounds cannot be in a cluster. In this case( ‘screen’) it’s a regular, unaspirated K
