*Would you do this zip tour?!* The trolleys DO have brakes, but you control the braking yourself (or not!) so you can go down with absolutely no brakes for maximum velocity (well, until the very end when you do have to brake for the landing.)

The wildfire smoke this year was pretty bad, so I couldn't get the pristine views I was hoping for...but it's still pretty great, even in a haze! Thanks for sharing our adventure!

Good times! Yes, I recently hiked an area that had several waterfalls - and I got soaked by the huge one while sticking my camera up into it! I'm trying for Sunday uploads, so it should be out then. Thanks so much for checking out the channel!

I would like to ride that ski lift all day! I went zip lining for the first time last year; the one I did was not nearly as cool as this one, though! 🤩👍

Awesome that you did your first zip line! This is my second time down this run...just wish the trolleys would hold you in one direction! So hard to not spin out!

Thanks, Rachel, this was a super fun outing! I'm not sure if Adam is my brother-in-law, technically, but I think of him like a brother anyway. He's my brother's wife's brother...if that makes sense. 😄

Ohhhh Dan LOL!!! I would laugh at my friend, too. 🤣😂☠️ But ya know what?! It's all gonna be a NO from me. I used to race cars...but I will pass on a zip line. 😅

The funny part (to me!) is that my brother is always in "beast mode" ... even when over pulling the zip line handle and engaging the redundant safety brake. 😆 If you ask him, that's just his regular mode... and he refers to it simply as "mode".

Would I do that zip line? Of course! In a heart beat! And it's cool that they also have a mountain bike trail down the mountain. But what you didn't mention, is that your guides stay with you the entire time! Did everyone watching catch that? So, . . . . . my question is: Does Emily zip down after you've landed at the next stop, & before the 3 of you leaves the next zip line post & therefore Johnathon right after you leave? Or is that the 2 of them biking down to the next stop & arriving before you get there? My "guess" is that they are zip-lining as well (being that they are also harnessed the entire time). And I'm guessing that because, if they were to have a mishap & wipe out along the bike trail, who would be there to assure you arrived safely at the next landing? Very informative video & beautiful footage. Thanks for taking us along on your adventure!

That's the spirit!! The mountain bike trails are really cool...and I loved zipping down over the riders!! Yes, you're right...the guides (at least 2 of them) are with your party at all times. My first trip had 4 guides for our group; this time it was just the two. So, yeah, a(t least 1) guide zips down each run first. Then the paying riders zip down afterward, with the final guide (or guides) following that. Before any riders can go down, there must be a guide at each end of the run - at least one guide up top to hook riders to the line...and at least one guide at the bottom to usher riders into safely and get them unhooked in preparation for any remaining riders in the group (or any remaining guides still up top.) They use walkie-talkies to communicate back and forth to make sure that the run is clear before the next couple head down. Thanks for joining us on this afternoon adventure!

@@NomadicPride Now that's a professional set up! I've zip-lined before, many times. However, each post had permanent & stationary employees. I really respect the fact that these guides follow the group the the entire way. However brief the encounter is, they've trained you in their rules & procedures, they have observed you & they have received an over-all perception of your individual personalities! A rapport has been created!
@NomadicPride
@NomadicPride Месяц назад
@@tamo9520 For sure. Both times I've gone, the guides all know each person in the group by name. Can you imagine working a zip line tower all day and not getting to ride it?! These guides get to ride the lines all day long. Jonathan said they get about 3 runs in per workday, so that would be 9 zip rides each day. Kinda jealous!!

@@NomadicPrideread about your van in the description.. you never know with sales people..😑 3 hours away… definitely sounds odd. maybe convert your truck into a camper. Do you like camping in your pickup ? Anyway I like watching van life , car life type stuff. Happy camping and hiking 🥾 🥾
@NomadicPride
@NomadicPride 26 дней назад
@@valeriefromoregon I got what seems to be good news yesterday about the van. It has definitely been a roller coaster of emotions since the end of June when the dates first started shifting around. There's not room in my garage for a truck camper and my HOA wouldn't allow one parked on the street, so my best option would be to just rough it with my truck and a tent...which is what I'll do until the van's officially here. I _can_ sleep in the truck if absolutely necessary, but it's extremely uncomfortable with my height. I did a hike recently with a fellow RU-vidr ... lots of waterfall action. I'm currently editing it. :)

Emily was taking photos of the 3 of you the entire time. Do you get a copy of any of those photos? From previous experiences, I'm sure you do, but do you get to pick? Do you get a series of photos for one certain price? Or are a certain amount (of your choice possibly) included?
@NomadicPride
@NomadicPride Месяц назад
Yes, she took lots of pics for us! This isn't actually a service...it's just something that she did after seeing that I was taking footage. She then texted us the pictures, but they turned out super small, so when I went to add them to the video, they were really pixelated at screen size. The images didn't make the cut, but we were very appreciative that she made the effort!
@tamo9520
@tamo9520 Месяц назад
@@NomadicPride Isn't that absolutely awesome of her! I bet I know what happened between the transfer of the images. I can almost bet that Emily uses an I-phone. They have an entirely different camera/ picture storing (what-ever it may be technically called) set-up & when those images are transferred to any other operating system, exactly what you experienced, happens. I am an Android user (& always will be). Unfortunately, I don't know how, or what program an Apple user would have to download to adjust or modify those images to another format so that all transfers could be easily accessible for use to everyone. I have been the recipient of images form I-phone users and I just can't seem to find any program on my end, be it through the Android format or the Windows format that can change those images over for my use. But at least you have them to appreciate! That was very thoughtful of her!
