FeelFree Lure 11.5 Review (Is it the MOST innovative kayak on the market?!?!)

Nice video. I used mine this morning. Sat in the seat for 7 hours and only stood once to stretch. The seat is the best and the cup holders suck 👍

These Lure kayaks look like the ultimate flat water boat. That seat is epic. Makes me want want to start fishing just to have an excuse to paddle one.

have a lure 13.5 and the rudder is absolutely a necessity. after I put mine on it was a different kayak. totally solved all my issues. I even made my own using one of the cheap amazon rudders and getting the foot pedals from feelfrees website. all you have to do is make the pin on the rudder longer and it all fits.

7:00 the cup holders are perfect for holding a 10 Lb. Mushroom anchor! Back out of the way and I just leave about 5 ft of loose line so I can just flip it out since I'm usually in 3ft or less fishing the flats. Without an anchor trolley I tie the line to the center handle (total length is about 12 ft)

I bought this model 3 years ago......didn't know it at the time but the hull was cracked right under the seat on the right side.....a half inch hairline crack, just enough to let in about a gallon of water in a 4-hour fishing trip.....I've patched it but wish I'd found it before the hull warranty epirec....you expect the bottom of a kayak to get damage from running it onto shore and over logs but not to crack inside.....overall I'm happy with it, the seat is the reason I bought it.....

When you have a fish finder transducer mounted to the sonar pod does it extend past the bottom of the kayak? Will it rub on anything?

I was dead set on getting a bonafide ss127 ,but found a feelfree 13.5 for $500 knowing now what I know with the feel free I would of happily paid retail for this kayak super stable , perfect fishing platform

Haha, those "cupholders" are only there so you can get your hand in there to lock down the back of the seat imo. I noticed that on another video. Maybe they shouild give out Vibe Coozies with their Lure models. I'm trying to decide between the Lure115 and the Sea Ghost 130. My Jack Russell will be with. Thanks for the review.

i been looking at another kayak the pelican 120 NXT, than i saw this and well had to check it out, honestly the price is totally out to lunch unreasonable, the peddle power system cost just as much as the kayak, the kayak cost is 1198 USD, with the pedal power system its 2100USD and i can buy the catch 120 NXT for 1200 canadian, thats a huge difference and feel its only fair that others know about that trade off, it sure looks great dont get me wrong but for the value you just may be better off with the catch 120 nxt. enjoy your kayak :)

Hey there dudes. Nice video review. Didn't realize there are so many built in add ons for the Feel Free Kayak. The seat is definitely nice. For the money it seems pretty good for value and I will put it in for consideration. Even though the Hobies are more expensive I'm still partial to the foot peddles propulsion. Just a personal preference for hands free. Either way that looks like a great setup. The outtakes were a nice touch..lol..Pay the water dudes..LFB PTW.

My gripes about my 11.5 is the seat, the sonarbox, and the non-std rails. The seat is super comfortable but doesn’t transport well in the kayak. Take it out for transport or it will start to shed parts. If you tighten the 6 bolts that hold the seat together is wont actuate un and down freely. It need to be assembled with those bolt not over tightened. My first call to Feelfree was spare parts lost from the seat while in transport. I like the sonar box, its big enough for my TotalScan xducer on my Elite Ti sonar but the clips that hold it together and in the boat are mediocre at best. In direct sunlight they become soft and loose. When my dealer has the Dorado in stock I would consider selling by 11.5 if is faster and has a place for my total scan recessed in the hull. All and all I like my Lure 11.5 and Lure !0. I fish a lot of smaller water in the 10 and if you don’t need a sonar the 10 is a good option. I have the rudder on my 11.5 is great for bigger water but not necessary.

Ok you got me convinced. Did you go with the rudder? And I hear I does not come with a paddle so what paddle do you use?

Thank you for making a good, to the point, review (rare). I found one used locally for trade and you've convinced me to try to get it. I was also looking at the Pelican Catch 120. But, this used is the same price as the Pelican new, so why not?

I havent seen anyone talk about this, but what are those 2 slots next to the seat. Are they storage for tackle???

You can buy the track adopters for $2 a piece that mount to any yak attack or scotty t-bolt. But it is aggravating having to buy an adaptor for every track mounting accessory

Are you able to get plano boxes in the slots next to the seat? If so what ones fit?

I'm having a hard time understanding how useful your crates hinged top compartment is. Looks like you have to empty it to get to the rest of the storage, or have all your stuff dump out when you tilt it up.

Great video! My only complaint is that you wore the flag on your left sleeve backwards. The stars on a flag should always be facing forward that’s why soldiers flags always have the field(or stars) facing forward. We charge into battle never retreat. I’m not a soldier but a Marine. With that said I see you are patriotic and if the flag being worn backwards is my biggest complaint then you are a stellar dude in my book! Just for future reference friend. Edit: Oh and keep the videos coming! New subscriber here! I’m new to kayak fishing and this helped immensely!

Does the back of the seat hurt your back? I sat in one at the store and didn't like that the back of the seat was so short.

for all the great things about the Feel Free models, thee big downfall is speed. They are incredibly slow. Hasn't stopped me from owning more than a dozen. I would recommend them all day long, but I added a Radar 135 and it smokes my lure 135. Great stability though
