Feeling a little bit of a burnout...

Hello everyone!
This was an old video that I forgot to edit. I used a small bud as a brush to paint. 😁
I have been feeling a little bit of a burnout lately. So many things are happening behind this channel and my social media platforms. I suddenly have doubts about my art, my classes and everything else...which feels vulnerable to share. It might be just one of those phases that come and go. I hope to be back to my painting momentum soon.
Thanks for your support as always. I really appreciate it!

When I feel blahh I’ve found that taking a break for a while helps, cleaning my office/studio (getting all the paints, paper, brushes off my desk) helps. Also, buying new paper, brushes, paints really helps and makes me excited to use what I bought (you could review supplies for a while until you get out of the burn-out). self care is so important! I hope you find something useful for yourself - I truly love watching your videos and even joined Skillshare just to take your classes. So please don’t stop making content but also take care of yourself 🩷💐

Please take care of yourself! If you are feeling burnout from doing things you love, then please take a break 😢. (Also, this is beautiful, as always!) I know I'll be here for you whenever you want to come back.

I think this, with all the texture, next to the soft blends, is my favorite. Keep pushing through, best of luck.

It's actually very common for an art that you love to become a source of burnout when you feel pressure, vs pleasure to do it. For example, if it becomes a job it gets attached to forms of pressure to perform a certain way, etc. When I have seen people go through this, the best solution has been to walk away entirely until the desire comes back. It could be days, weeks or months. Don't feel pressure to any timeline. And when you start to crave it, paint for you, not for others. Don't even video it - just fall in love with it all over again. ❤

Life is filled with so many emotional challenges. It’s difficult to create art and do it for a living. There’s a competition within that’s very challenging to overcome. I trust you will find a way. Sometimes pausing is the best strategy to rethink where life is going. This intensifies when there are children.

Make sure you see your doctor that it’s not a physical health condition as what had happened to me this past year. Good luck to you

Please, don’t ever doubt your art- it’s beautiful, and it’s you. Don’t let the algorithms change who you are or what you want to do. Give yourself some slack, permission to rest, and time to reflect. Sending *hugs*! 🤗

Yes, I'm right there with you! Thanks for sharing. One of the things I do is to take a break for it all together and watch a movie or a TV series, which isn't the best way but it gets me out of my own head. Another way is to decorate my planner/journal as it's more crafty than painting, so it's another creative outlet in a different way. I also go back to the very beginning of what drew me to watercolor and why I loved it so much and repaint those type and style of painting and it refreshes my love for it plus it give me a boost in seeing the progress of how much I'm grown in my skills. Happy painting
