Another year, another winter! Unlike the first winter mix, this time I included some of the more eerie wintery tunes. Ice levels aren't always cute and cozy (looking at you Zelda...). That's also why I chose a less whimsical artwork. Hope you like it!

That photo you chose for the background is so rad. The first song that comes on doesn’t match it at all haha. Unless it’s like when link gets back from his quest to zelda back at the cabin with fireplace and hot chocolate and warm glowing colors.

I like that you blended in some tracks that also evoke January and February, I love Christmas-style winter level music but I especially love the icy midwinter style of music that focuses on evoking pure cold to really emphasize the blistering chill of winter.

I'd like to see a zelda game in this style. super dark and dramatic but with a slightly impressionist art style that casts a surreal feeling over the whole thing. I think that would be extremely immersive

@@diegone080 pretty close in terms of the drama but the art direction in that game isn't quite like this painting. I'd love to see a game in the same vein as TP with all the heroism and drama but physically darker. With more of a bend towards hopelessness like in MM and a touch of the WW polygon vibe where things don't look quite right but in a way makes them more real. The creepy uncanny valley kinda shit.

Coming in one year late. It’s November here in Canada land and that means it’s winter apparently. Tbh I love winter mixes, listening to them (and your other mixes too) in bed or just to relax after a hard day is great. Hope you do more this winter! Ps I think the track thingy is wrong maybe

Frosty wheel is the best and the most calming music soundtracks in the kirby series. Kirby’s Epic Yarn is the first kirby game in the series to have ‘piano’ instruments music.

Wow, Shiveria Race (42:04) is basically a folk tune. I used to listen to video game music all the time, and now I play folk music. I wonder if the inherently repetitive structure of a lot of video game music is derived from folk, which is composed of tunes that usually have an A and B part that are repeated like AABBAABB? Explains why a lot of VGM is very playable on folk instruments. Thanks for this mix, it's lovely!

There's only one song I looked for on the list that wasn't there. Phendrana Drifts from Metroid Prime is probably the most "snowy" song I think of when I think of nintendo and snow together

Yep, they make it sound like pure cold brilliantly. Even the sleigh bells make you think more of a dogsled trekking through the remote tundra than Santa's sleigh.
