the memories of you, they lingered, like the dawn,
i reached for my boots, and my old guitar too,
tryna find solace, in the melodies I knew.
But I'm lost in the haze of memories,

but they just lead me back, to the heartache that's me.
I drove down country roads, with the wind in my hair,
tryna outrun the pain, but it was always there,
i stopped at a diner, where we used to meet,
the waitress smiled and said, "you look like you're beat".
