Getting comfortable with any new motorcycle can take time and the KLR650 is no exception. During this video I compare getting comfortable with my new KLR650 is like dating to start. I know the KLR650 is now comfortable and I can't wait to take more adventures.

Coming from Harley's myself, the KLR just hits the heart different! Its not perfect on the pavement, but being able to jump off on an old dirt road, nothing beats it!!

Totally agree it’s so easy and fun to just go. Hey, there’s an old dirt Road let me take that.

I've had the habit of buying a new bike almost every year for the past 20+ years. Harleys, Ducati, Guzzis, etc. My plan was to keep each one long term. Never happened. My Traveler has changed all that. There might be others, but I KNOW I'm keeping this one. Versatility and simplicity have won out. I'm happy.

Kawasaki Land Rover: I've had 2, the 2nd I bought new in '07 and put over 110,000 miles on it with no major issues. Wanting more pep I'm on a Yamaha T7 now, nearly 34,000 mi in 2 years.

Now that’s some riding right there! What’s your advice, just staying up on the maintenance?
@G8rquest
@G8rquest Год назад
@@bodeanaventures Right! Change your oil/filter and keep your eyes, ears, nose and nerves tuned to what's going on especially chain, brakes, and tires. Key factor in T7 miles; I'm retired and my recliner here wants to kill me...gotta go.

3K miles on mine now. I have been riding my cruisers more lately for longer rides only because i need to swap out the klr rear tire soon. I am comfortable on the klr on the road rpms dont bother me. I can scoot around on the stock seat to change positions to get comfortable.

I knew I liked my KLR the first time I saw I could jump a curb and then riding it on roads like in this video. I also love it on the street. I like sitting high and the gas mileage too. I enjoyed your viewpoints.

KLR is definitely more geared for dirt than the street. Looks like a cool back country road. The KLR is a solid platform. Glad you are enjoying it. One thing I do for phone navigation is downloading the map into google maps for offline use.

Harleys = 🤮 KLR 650 = 👍👍 ...and shame on you for not riding with a REAL GPS instead of a crappy triangulated cell phone-based GPS!
@bodeanaventures
@bodeanaventures Год назад
Don’t understand why the GPS, my cell works and really I never need it. Maybe if I did trips with this book o night
@seanoleary1979
@seanoleary1979 Год назад
@@bodeanaventures OK, here’s GPS 101 for you: The “GPS” on your cell phone uses local cell towers to triangulate your position - unless of course you’re using a satellite-based phone. A ‘true’ GPS uses actual satellites that revolve around the Earth. I know my cell phone coverage becomes extremely spotty somewhere between 20-50 miles outside of any major metropolitan area with it either seizing/freezing or simply giving the message ‘no connection to the internet.’ If you’re heading out into some real wilderness, you better take a week’s worth of water & provisions along with a flare gun if you intend to solely use your cell phone. While riding a Harley or other faux cruiser and farting around on the interstates, a cell phone may be OK. For places a KLR can take you, you’re eventually going to end up in trouble!
@seanoleary1979
@seanoleary1979 Год назад
@@bodeanaventures ..bottom line is, I enjoy your videos and prefer you keep making them, instead of relying on your phone while getting lost and wandering around in the woods waiting for the Blair Witch to snag you!
@AzMtnThumper
@AzMtnThumper 11 месяцев назад
@@seanoleary1979 I have navigated all over the western US with a cell phone on airplane mode. Cell service is not needed to navigate. Cell phone apps such as Gaia and Locus Pro are much easier to plan routes and load into a cell phone with a variety of superior maps that can be downloaded as well.

Meeeehhh, Like I said previously. Its mediocre at best. I will not be doing the KLR again.. And in answer to your response to my previous comment. Not a majority of the roads are technical, but are you just a asphalt/ gravel guy? Or an adventure rider. I'm looking for the killer ADV rides... Epic.. Not just farting around on the crap everyone else is doing.. So which are you???
@bodeanaventures
