I will never touch starline stuff again i had a brand new starline track rod end rip all the threads off within 2 miles of fitting it. I was doing 70mph at the time and nearly crashed into the centre reservation and no i didnt over tighten it, it was torqued to spec as it was my partners car and im not giving her the benefit of i told you so lol

Great video kirby... i would not do what you are doing in order to save the customer money but as a result its costing you time and money as a result.. what we did (when i worked in a garage dont do it anu more) is price up better quailty parts and give that quote to the customer if they go ahead then great... if not they are more than welcome to supply thier own cheaper parts but you have to make it clear to them that if they parts fail 6 months down the line then you will charge your labour again to fit a new... at the moment becuse you are suppliying the parts you are having to eat the comebacks which is not only costing you time and money plus putting other jobs on hold etc... i dont like euro for a lot of reasons the main one being crap parts and wrong parts... i stick to gsf and avoid the budget line such as drive tec etc....

Hi Kirby, feel your pain regarding warranty. When I started out on my own 17 years ago I had several parts suppliers because one was cheaper for brakes another was cheaper for oil etc but it was a pain when it came to sorting out warranty, returns and credit at the end of every month. I've since stuck with one family run supplier for the last 15 years and they really look after us so much so that they give us a free 200 litre barrel of oil and filters every Xmas. If there is a warranty claim they'll replace the part FOC and deal with the wholesalers themselves for the claim. Our labour is then covered by credit for any tools in their store.
