Review of the latest FEELWORLD Master monitor, MA5. It's a small 5" monitor, which is really affordable. Buy the monitor ⮕ bit.ly/feelworld-ma5 My blog: beyondthetime.net
Hi, yea, I've noticed that zebra stripes are a little bit different in camera than in the monitor, but I don't find it disturbing as it's a slight difference. What do you mean by not matching the PP? Remember to compare the image on the komputer and on the monitor, not the camera screen as it's not very good
Hey! I think I found another thing wrong with the MA5 (at least its happening to me) if you shoot in 4k (we know it doesnt display info like iso f stop etc) but I use center lock on focus for some reason when using the monitor it states "this operation or setting not available as follows XAVC 4k" but when you unplug the HDMI cable you can now use center lock on auto focus. Highly debating about returning the monitor lol but not sure if the small hd focus does the same thing when in 4k? let me know if you experience this
MA6 is a bigger screen, ma5 has dual battery plate that let's you use either Sony NP or Canon batteries. I just got the new MA6p monitor and I will be doing a video comparison soon :)
How do you get the image from the camera to fit the entire screen on the monitor?... whenever I plug mine into my Sony camera it shows up like it does @ 5:04
I see you have the monitor mounted on the body. Can you use this setup on the gimbal ? how is it ? Is not a problem ? this setup i want to use with my Ronin s :) I don t want to mount the monitor on the handle. Thank you for this video and for your time.
I wonder if this is better for me or F6 model, on paper it has slightly better screen (more brightness, contrast and declaration of 95% Rec.709 color gamut). As an ambassador can You ask Feelworld how much percentage of color gamut this model has?
Is this any good for photography? I'm not shooting video just looking for something to check focus and composition other than the bad small on camera display. I have an a7iii. I cant find any info on this. If it works can you see the pictures when you browse through them on the monitor? Thanks!
You can see the pictures on the monitor. And it's possible to use it for photography, however the signal that camera send through HDMI port in photo mode has lower resolution than in video. In video it's full 4k or 1080, in photo it's something visibly worse
@@BeyondTheTime thanks for your reply! Do you get a live view when using it for photography? Ah dang that's not good to hear. I wonder if it is like that with all cameras?
Yes, it's like this with all cameras. And yes, you get live view with photo mode. It's better than built in screen for sure, but when you switch to video mode, then it looks awesome. Howevder I use it sometimes for hyperlapses, which I made in photo mode ;)
@@BeyondTheTime thanks! In photo mode can u see the focus point that's on the camera and stuff like the histogram and the exposure meter? Does it just show exactly what's on the camera screen? Also have you used it In bright sunlight? I live in az sonduring the summer it can get really bright. Might need the sun hood for that though.
It can display everything that's on the camera screen. Monitor also has built in peaking, histogram etc. With sun hood you can use it in very bright sun, basically it's way brighter than any built in screen
@@wazerbenal8377 I found it working differently in different cameras. But you found the settings? In a6300 it's the last tab, 4th page > HDMI sttings > HDMI Info. Display > On. You can also try to change the resolution sent through HDMI and see if it helps
@@BeyondTheTime Yeah found it in Setup > HDMI Settings > HDMI Info Display. In 4k mode, it is disabled, while in the 1080p mode, it just outputs the screen to the monitor and in a 4:3 aspect ratio which doesn't look great. Thanks btw! :)
I haven't use MA6, but: for gimbal work I would prefer MA5 as it's smaller to carry and lighter. For tripod/studio work bigger is better. For my work specifically as I do a lot of gimbal stuff, today I would go with MA5.
@@Alonnnz I don't think so as all the monitors in master series uses the same processing chip, polarizing coating etc. However as I said I have used just the MA5. I'll ask them to send me some other monitor from this series to compare it.
Balanced on a camera on a gimbal..... I’m sorry but that alone is stupid and NOT balanced properly. How can we trust your “unbiased” review if you can’t manage to demonstrate the basics for videography. It may we’ll be a great monitor but it’s the small things you have demonstrated that annoy a lot of people.
