I live in PA and many restaurants are adding a service fee to use your credit card. When I discover this, usually at the end of the meal, I vow not to return, write it on the receipt and leave a poor rating on Yelp describing the service fee. If I walk into a restaurant and see the notice on the door, I turn away. I rather they increase their price than tack on a charge, simply because you know this will soon get out of hand and all businesses will start charging extra fees.

On Saturday we went out to lunch and checked the bill, we had a 10% surcharge at a buffet. It wasn’t stated anywhere on the price board at the register either. Needless to say no tip.

Apparently you haven’t seen a cell phone bill. When you get your bill or pay it, look at how long it is and all the charges and just shake your head.

Take the same amount and go to the grocery store buy the ingredients and makenit yourself. Get better ingredients. Will taste cleaner and not so greasy you will prolly get at least 2-4 meals forbthe same price as 1 take out meal. And you do not have to tip anyone. My brkther asked me to teach him basics of cooking cause he realized he slent 700 a month in tkae out and his rent was 900. So he spent almost as much in take out as he did in rent. Seesh. I told him give me that 700 and i will cook for him. LOL.

I dont eat out a lot I eat out even less since places in my area have added an automatic fee to the total ticket Then still have the audacity to ask for a tip Um no Tipping is optional And tour fee is bs So i eat out less because of this

KFC overcharged me an extra $3.00 for a bowl of coleslaw. I thought my total bill was rather high so I checked my receipt after leaving the shop and the $3.00 extra charge was called an, “up charge” on my receipt. But no one in the restaurant could explain what the up charge was for or whether it was discretionary. Lots of BS charges disguised as something else no one can explain. Look at your cellphone bill, if you don’t believe me.

Oregonian here and I travel to the islands on a bi annual basis for vacation with the family. It's become increasingly expensive to travel there, so from now on we are going to Palm Springs and Phoenix. Hawaii used to be affordable but it has become more expensive and the homeless situation is out of control. Last October in Kona for example, there was more homeless doing drugs on the beach than I've witnessed in the past. I'm out!

Business ripping off their employees, again. Tax ‘included’ means the waiter and waitress gets little to nothing for their labors. I would tip more than these receipts are taking out.

Think about all the people that provide you with extra SERVICE (that is not, the cashier) that do not get tipped. IMHO Tips are for extraordinary service. You UPS/FedEx drivers deliver to your door and do not get a tip, even if they had ti climb stairs with a 69lb package (70 triggers a shipping up fee). Why should the person who brings you Pizza to the take away counter get one?
