When I was a child, few decades ago, Feist made me in love with this life. Her voice kept me optimistic and made the world colorful and joyful for me through some very tough times. I thank Feist on that, as I'm getting older (26 is older enough to me!) during the years and miss her and that time.
I've just had an unexpected chance of listening to her live (on a Kings of Convenience concert) and I can say that her talent, her voice and her personality is out of this world!!! :D
Listening to this song makes me feel so happy. It's charming, catchy, her voice is clear, cute and I sway along with the beat while I smile. Feist is one of the greatest artists I have had the pleasure of listening to.
I saw her perform yesterday as she was the opening act to Bon Iver @ Red Rocks. Both such amazing artists-it was a simply fantastic concert and a beautiful Colorado night.
This is an amazing song and it deserves each and every crumb of its acclaim, but I do wish that people would lisen to the rest of the songs from her "Let It Die" album. Each and every one is such a unique, timeless, standalone gem and I love them all.
I just completed my pilgrimage to the building where this video was shot in Prague (Kamenická 33, in Holešovice), listening to the song on my headphones. My grin must have been huge because people were looking at me funny :)
When the mood strikes you to sing, does music start playing out of nowhere while tons of coincidentally-costumed people spontaneously decide to start doing complex, coordinated choreography and you can straight-up FLOAT out of a window or papers fly everywhere while strobe lights flash in the middle of an airport? No? Because you're not a reality-warper.
I absolutely love the style of music videos she makes... incorporating dance choreography, movie magic, special effects, and editing. Simply put, it's sick.
It's not a small village, kinda spread out with long dirt roads along the ocean and houses tucked away here and there. You need to drive through the village and walk through it, playing this song, and you'll wonder why the video wasn't filmed in Mushaboom.
Very special song to me. Coming back to this video i realized it starts with her singing live then transitions to the studio audio. I cant think of any other music videos that do this
I was just reminiscing about the good times of my younger years and remembered this song. And when I'm older I'll reminisce about this. These are the good times too.
Lyrics Helping the kids out of their coats But wait the babies haven't been born oh oh oh Unpacking the bags and setting up And planting lilacs and buttercups oh oh oh But in the meantime I've got it hard Second floor living without a yard It may be years until the day My dreams will match up with my pay Old dirt road (mushaboom, mushaboom) Knee deep snow (mushaboom, mushaboom) Watching the fire as we grow (mushaboom, mushaboom) Old I've got a man to stick it out And make a home from a rented house oh oh oh And we'll collect the moments one by one I guess that's how the future's done oh oh oh How many acres how much light Tucked in the woods and out of sight Talk to the neighbours and tip my cap On a little road barely on the map Old dirt road (mushaboom, mushaboom) Knee deep snow (mushaboom, mushaboom) Watching the fire as we grow (mushaboom, mushaboom) Old (mushaboom, mushaboom) Old dirt road Rambling rose (mushaboom, mushaboom) Watching the fire as we grow (mushaboom, mushaboom) Well I'm sold Oh oh oh oh oh oh Oh oh oh oh oh oh
I've been looking this song for 10 years or more. Because the firts time I heard it was in a head & shoulder advertisement!! Ocassionaly I discovered 1234 and then I found with this song from Feist too. I'm happy!
I FINALLY FOUND IT AGAIN!!! AFTER 10 YEARS!!! P.S. there really should be an app that helps you find songs by "woah oh oh ohs", "ah ah ahs", "la la las", and "di di dis".
Hey! This was uploaded on my birthday! This song means a lot to me. It's one of me and my husband's songs. Every bit of the sentiment. Thank you, Leslie Fiest. :)
A year ago friend of mine showed me this song and I loved it very much. But then after few months because of low storage in my cellphone memory card I had to delete it. Then I just forgot about it. Today I watched '500 days of Summer' and felt absolutely amazing when I heard this song again. I felt renewed. Thank you, Feist.
WE STILL CONSIDER LESLIE IN THE TOP 10 OF ALL CANADIAN ARTISTS!!! I may have said it before. . . . when she went on her own. . . . She'd Wake - Up and Force Her Self To Write A Song. . . . SO EVIDENT In Her Last Album!!! She really needs the Old Days. ... surrounded by so many people . . . AND. . . . SHE MADE MAGIC HAPPEN!!! I Hope She Can Get Back To That Space Again!!!! WE LOVE YOU FEIST!!! Be Happy!!!
